"NEW: Defenseman Nolan Valleau has joined the Falcons, but won't start practicing until the second semester and won't be eligible to play in a game until next season.
He's a full-time student at BG this semester.
Valleau originally committed to Ohio State, but de-committed last spring and came to BG in mid-September. But he didn't meet academic requirements and was ruled ineligible by the NCAA Eligibility Center
The 6-foot, 180 pounder had eight goals and 18 assists for Des Moines and Chicago in the United States (Junior) Hockey League last season.
He turns 21 in November and is from Novi, Mich."

Will he be playing four years with us, or only three?

Valleau committed to Ohio State this past December after a strong start to his USHL career. Last year, he played for Port Huron of the NAHL, helping lead the Fighting Falcons to a divisional championship. The coaching switch was the primary reason for Valleau's decision.
Maybe he just wanted to keep playing for the Fighting Falcons!! :supz:

Welcome to the nest, Nolan!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I believe he'll be able to play four years. Mingo sat out his true freshman year for academic reasons and was granted an extra year of eligibility.

Question on Dajon - since "the presser" was somewhat inaudible, I think I heard coach B mention something about a player having some academic issues, not playing against WL? Could this be Mingo...again? Didn't see his name on stats sheet after this game. Hope not - real good skater - love to watch this kid!!

Mingo was not dressed for the game. Neither was Wallace.

I believe the Sentinel's article said he was out for academic reasons, but it sounds like it was team imposed and not NCAA.

Mingo had to sit out the exhibition and Union series and will be back for the game against that Columbus team for bad grade on either a test or a project. Nothing major but love the discipline and stressing academics first by coach.

Yep. The one thing you don't want is kids falling too far behind. This sends the right message about academics.
