Per the article on JJ huddle, Parkinson will copme in as a preferred walk on with an academic scholarship. The coaches wanted to make an offer, but felt that they had enough likely commits to fill the number of football schollies available

just listening to a sports talk show on WLW 700, Cincy OH and they were doing a feature on High School Recruiting service (College Prospects Of AM., Tom Elisas-sp?, owner)
They had Brady Mintrun, 253#'s DT, and his family, from Loveland, OH, to interview, concerning this service.
The coment from Brady that was interestering; from the BG Coaching staff,
'if you don't want to play in the NFL, we don't want you at BG' !!
WOW
His Mom said she felt the "Feel of Family at BG" and really liked that. Plus it is close for them to see Brady.
We've got a Great Staff!

Cleveland Plain Dealer says that Zywotek is definitely going to Findlay. I ask myself.....self....why would the Ohio DII defensive player of the year want to go to Findlay, of all places, when he could go "up the road" just a few miles and play for a top 15 program? Big fish in a little pond, maybe?
He also mentioned that having Corey (from Loveland) at BG helped. This "Feel of Family" is the same thing that sold Corey on coming here.Falcon Commander wrote: His Mom said she felt the "Feel of Family at BG" and really liked that. Plus it is close for them to see Brady.
I had the same feeling on our visit and felt very comfortable in knowing that they would take care of Corey not only on the team/field but in the classroom. After Corey's first term at BG it appears to all be true. Corey had a very good term academically.
Looks like I will have some traveling partners for next season, Wisconsin here we come.....

Local Talent
I love BG football and going to the games. The only thing I don't understand is why they don't recruit more local talent. The city of BG and it's surrounding communities do not have high populations, therefor filling the stadium is tougher than at a lot of schools...but local talent would help. I know they tried when they offered Leady, but they need to get guys like the LB from Maumee (Brad Goatley) and the RB from Toledo St. John's (Marcus Waugh) that both committed to Cincinnatti. There have to be athletes in this area. I know that the Division VI state champion Hardin Norther Polar Bears had one or two guys that could play DI-A football. A DE/TE that is like 6'7" 220 (Damien Plaugher) and an OL that is quite large. I know I'm not a recruiting expert, but if I was to market the program for attendance, this would be a great place to start. Other than that all of these guys sound like they're going to make a great impact. Gotta love Falcon football!
BGSU Class of '07
They offered Waugh......I don't know about the rest. As for the kids from Hardin Northern, it is VERY tough for most D-6 kids to go to D-1 college programs, parthly because of the competition and partially because of the size of the school. I grew up in the BVC, I I can only remebmber a handful of kids that have ever palyed D-1 football. Not sayng it can't be done, but it just doesn't happen very often.
