question for all...
I thought I would throw this question out there for all of you that know more than me.. Last night, Booboo was removed for the game for targeting a defensive opponent... Is there a chance that he could be suspended for the next game??

Re: question for all...
The rule is he sits for the first half. I don't think the MAC will tack anything onto that. An MSU defender did the same thing to Burbrink after he dropped the ball, but they didn't call it. Maybe they gave him the benefit of the doubt because Burbrink was moving.....or maybe we just got homered
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: question for all...
BooBoo was ejected in the second quarter right? That means he sits the remainder of the half and the entire second half but I think he is back for that team up north.

Re: question for all...
There was some confusion on this. He sat the 2nd half so he will be able to play the whole game vs UT.

As a sidebar - pretty sure his replacement was Sutton - kid out of Fishers, IN. Played a good game for the most part, especially that open field tackle on #4. Saved a very big gain!

Defense was great after losing Gates. They really stepped up.

Yeah, Sutton really stepped up and produced. The D rallied around Gates, IMO.

Right. My understanding is this:orangeandbrown wrote:There was some confusion on this. He sat the 2nd half so he will be able to play the whole game vs UT.
Targeting in the first half is an ejection for the remainder of the game.

NCAA Rule
From the NCAA
The rule in football means that discipline for players flagged for violations will mirror the penalty for fighting. If the foul occurs in the first half of a game, the player is ejected for the remainder of the game. If the foul occurs in the second half or overtime of a game, the player is ejected for the
remainder of the game and the first half of the next contest....
Additionally, a postgame conference review remains part of the rule, and conferences retain their ability to add to a sanction.

So the MAC could make him sit for a half or the entire game. Doubtful, but it is a possibility.

Re: question for all...
So, if you're way ahead you should do your targeting with like a minute to go in the first half?
Yet another well thought-out rule by the NCAA. They are the gold standard...
