Correct me if I'm wrong but is the last RB to gain over 1,000 in a season PJ Pope? I know Anthon Samuel finished with 998 last year after losing 3 yards on his last carry in the Military Bowl.
Would love to see Greene tear up tsun for about 200...
One other thing...no team has made a FG against us so far this year. 0-5! I find that amazing. Meanwhile, Tyler Tate has hit 8 of 11 with a long of 45. So refreshing to see our opponents having huge problems kicking while we are doing a solid job.

I think you are right, PJ Pope was the last 1,000 yard rusher. Tate seems pretty good. Although I was trying to remeber his misses yesterday. I can only remeber 3 of the 6 (over two years). I wonder how many were from the left hashmark.
He's a pure runner which I love, very little dancing and juking, just gets the ball, runs straight ahead and maximizes his yardage. He's been a great weapon for BG this year.
Didn't someone post a thread titled "COPPET NOW!!" after one of the games? Where is he now?
Edit: It was Redwing Tom! Wow. That surprised me when I went back and looked to see who started the thread. Do you still feel that way Tom? Interested to know if your thoughts on Greene have changed at all.

Greene has played well against all competition. Even the IU game where the entire team stunk he still averaged 4 yards a carry. I like Givens as the change of pace/third down back and Moore to get some carries around the end once in awhile. Greene would have some really attractive numbers if Houston wasn't getting the goal line carries. If he remains healthy and we play 14 games this year I could see him reaching 1,500-1,700 yards.
Green has been a real pleasant surprise -- but I also saw flashes in Coppet that made me want to see more of him after those early games. BG is very deep in the backfield; so it would be great to see them come up with different packages of plays that could play to the strength of these different running backs.
Now, having said that: when you have a stud like Green who can literally take over a game at a certain point, you have to keep him warm and ride him, when necessary. He may be one of those backs who gets stronger as the game progresses, and does more damage to a defense.

How are Coppet's hands? Would be great to get him on the field with Greene, maybe with some WR screens.

This seems like an overstatement.
I don't think it is -- because I don't believe the coaches have yet tapped all the talent that is there in a game. He's given us glimpses of what is to come and it's pretty tantalizing.

Agree BGWriter...this kid makes me salivate every time he gets the ball. I loved watching Anthon Samuel and was bummed when we found out he wasn't coming back but Greene has proven to be every bit as good...and seems more durable.

He doesn't really have take over game ability though. He does great with whats blocked and his make you miss ability is nice and his ability to wiggle through tackles, but he doesnt have break away speed or exceptional power. His longest run on the year is 32 yards and he has 3 tds.
