Steinbrecher also said they hope to have 7-8 total tie-ins soon, which would be awesome but I also fail to see how the MAC can send that many teams consistent;y every year.

From the sounds of it the MAC will have five for sure tie ins from 2014-2019. Maybe those extra ones are those type of secondary tie ins to bowls if a conference can't provide a team to a already established bowl

Wow...to think the MAC had a one loss team sitting home as recently as 2000/2001. Now we could be sending more than one five loss team bowling every year....
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

The Bahama Bowl is going to run into the same problems the Toronto Bowl did. People will have to have passports to attend and will be almost as expensive to attend with airfare as a ticket to a big time bowl.

Soon every D1 program will get a bowl bid. Soon a 5-7 record will get you a bowl bid. It's a complete farce. I love BGSU sports and love to see our programs succeed. However, the whole bowl system is a hot mess.

I think they're banking on the whole idea of vacationing in the Bahamas while watching your team play. If I had to take a December vacation to either Toronto or the Bahamas, I personally know which one I'm picking ...

Do you think they might also be thinking that some of the locals would want to come out and watch a sport that is rarely played in their country? Granted, it's not the most populous of countries, but I have to imagine some of them will want to come watch something they hardly ever get to see in person.
