You must be forgetting that lovely, memorable smell of Poe Ditch when the wind is just right!
I assume the old Heinz plant is no longer operating. You can't imagine how odoriferous it was in the Fall when the plant was in full operation and you had the smell of ketchup being made blending with the sewage coming from Poe Ditch.

Delightful!

As for the campus...I loved its compact nature, but yet how very pretty it was once you got to the older sections around University Hall and the Chapel. Especially in the Fall, it was extremely pretty.

Of course, the campus has expanded greatly since that time and the architectural additions are now quite varied. But that makes BG different. It's almost like you could start at the Chapel and draw a chronological line of archaeological changes as you moved in a circle around South Hall, University Hall and eventually headed East.

Thanks everyone, this has been helpful.

One additional research topic I was thinking about looking into are the "luxury areas" at the venues. Has anyone ever sat in the luxury boxes at the Doyt or the Anderson Club at the Stroh? What is the draw to sit there?
