I was shocked we got that face mask call when they sacked MJ earlier in the drive. I think the game was called pretty evenly. I watch a good bit of football and targeting seems to be called rather infrequently. I see a lot of plays that could be called targeting and aren't. I think had the hit caused the drop, maybe it would have been called? I know it's still targeting either way but personally all I noticed was it going through his hands and never even noticed the targeting if that makes any sense at all.
Does anyone know if MJ can check out of a play or is everything from the sideline? Actually being at a game and not watching on an internet feed for once I was able to notice which receivers were consistently open. Burbrink was left uncovered many times where the guy lining up on him would come off of him to blitz or play the run. This most notably happened on that third down draw that was stuffed. He was glaringly left uncovered on this play, on his receptions and other instances like that third down play. I was screaming for a pass to him on that play because it was an easy first down. We should have tried to run on second down I thought.

The Toledo game is NEVER pointless. Not ever!Beaker wrote:Globetrotter wrote:The Toledo game is pointless. As long as we beat Buffalo we can go to the championship game and win the MAC. I'm looking forward to that November 29th matchup.
If we lose to Toledo we can still achieve all of our goals for the year. I just hope we play somewhat well in a few weeks and compete.

I think someone is being sarcastic and wants to live in the past. You know win a Bigwhatever OOC game then lose to EMU and Buffalo at home kind of season. Of course I just hit the bait.Falconfreak90 wrote:The Toledo game is NEVER pointless. Not ever!Beaker wrote:Globetrotter wrote:The Toledo game is pointless. This will be the most consequential BG/UT game in quite some time. We caught them when they were down from 07-09 and they caught us during our rebuilding process over the past three years.Falconfreak90 wrote:

Both programs are now on sound footing and it's strong vs. strong. This is a must, must win.
Re: MSU game thread...
Correct. Thanks 51. Aside from the problem that had him on the sidelines most of last week, maybe he's had a nagging injury that's kept him at less than 100% all season? Not sure. If something was said about it in the media, then I must have missed it.footballguy51 wrote:We all realize he got hurt very early in the game. The point that was being made was that he's been non-impactful so far this season, which is unusual for him.sum1udontknow wrote:Gallon was either hurt coming into play Saturday or got hurt early because he was in street clothes on the sideline in the 2nd half much the same as Boo Boo was.. So you didn't see him do anything because he was on the sideline.
Anyway, he just hasn't seemed like the player he was at the end of last season and the way he finished last year, I expected him to have a monster season this year. Hopefully, whatever it is he can get past it and back to form. Anyone who was at the Kent game last year knows what a difference maker he can be.
Re: MSU game thread...
No doubt. The 2003 - 2005 years were classic battles that went down to the wire, with each team being strong and both having a lot on the line. Being that it was the last game of the season added that extra special element of desperation which we now, unfortunately, no longer have. Even so, this one should be a great game and I can't wait.mscarn wrote:This will be the most consequential BG/UT game in quite some time.
