Nice little article on the comeback win last night:

SWEEP COLGATE!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."
~~USCHO Poster
"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I applaud the number of students that showed up but several of us ran into the issue of students spilling over into reserve seating and taking entire rows. Good problem. Maybe the thought of student ticket pickup might an idea they should be thinking about.

I remember those days.....waiting in line prior to the ticket office opening on a monday so you could go to the game friday and satuday.....those were some great years for hockey.

May want to start thinking about it if it continues...........people that PAY for a seat may actually want to sit there. Just a thought ticket office.

The student section should flow into the general admission area around that corner. That's an obvious fix. The tickets for that area do not correspond to a specific seat, just a collection of seating sections.

Now, even though the hockey faithful will not want to hear this, the students will not show up in those massive numbers for this weekend. We play Colgate this weekend. We played Ohio State last night. The students know Ohio State. They do not know Colgate.

Given that they showed up for an exhibition game against Wilfrid-Laurier, I wouldn't be too sure about that.

not only did they turn up for Laurier, they were amped.
the buzz is back.
call me an optimist, but if the team actually starts winning...before long 2,700 will be an off night.

I guess I'm still stuck in the days when attendance struggled because we rarely won.

Hockey is different from football and basketball. They follow the big schools in only 2 sports. The kids I've spoken to like the action and excitement of college hockey. I think a good team that connects to the community will draw against the Colgate's. I think we're about to find out.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.
