If he is not replaced by the end of the year barring anything than a bad news bears run with 11 scholarship players to the NCAA championship they should really just shut down the program. It has to be bleeding money. They have alienated die hard fans with years of mismanagement, unlikable coaches, unlikable style of play and unlikable players.transfer2BGSU wrote:Same thing that happens at the end of the year if we do not make the NCAA tournament - the Athletic Director has a decision to make. Renew Coach Orr's contract or start a coaching search and bring in his own coach.drumstix2388 wrote:Very VERY hypothetical question here that may have already been asked but I don't feel like reading through the archives: If by some miracle Coach Orr wins 19 games this year and takes the MAC tourney for an NCAA berth, what happens then?
It is not a given that making the tournament will save the coach's job.
It is not a given that coach will be replaced at the end of the year if he does not make the tourney.
It is a given that the Athletic Director has an important decision to make regarding BGSU Men's Basketball either way.
How in the world do you not use all 13 scholarships. Its hilarious. And then you will graduate 2. So we have 9 scholarship players for 2014-2015....Maybe they are slowly disbanding the program.
I had an entire list of Srs who were transferring from big name schools that had one year left of eligibility. Get two of those atleast if you don't want to do long term planning.
