Status on Martin and Cohen?
Status on Martin and Cohen?
Gabe Martin went down on Toledo's winning drive, and Jared Cohen went down a bit earlier. I heard Clawson say one of them had a knee injury but couldn't tell which one he was asked about. Losing Martin would be a huge blow. And losing Cohen right now would be a big loss to due to all the injuries at WR right now.

Martin has an MRI on Monday. Don't know anything on Cohen.

As if the loss wasn't bad enough, now the injuries are coming to key starters. Losing Martin would be a MAJOR loss. Clawson said in the preseason if we lost him they'd wouldn't be able to replace him and weren't sure how to shift and move people around. I fear we could be hearing very bad news with him.

Yeah. Martin is our best player on defense. Paul Senn has his own highlight reel by now and would certainly play well if called upon but there's something you can't replace in Martin's instincts on the field. Major, major loss. As far as I know Cohen is OK seeing as he finished playing. Just to imagine if it had been Gallon, not Joplin on that last big pass ...

I had faith in Joplin but that drop was a killer. I really think he could have scored on it too. Those Toledo DB's were both beaten on it and we jumping up and down afterwards knowing we just lost the game on that pass. Looked like the one guy was giving it to Joplin, and I don't blame him. And also, these drops by Burbrink. He's usually clutch and these passed he dropped at the end vs MSU and early vs UT, both would have given us first downs. The MSU game would have set up a FG try and the UT game would have given us first and goal from inside the 5.MarkL wrote:Yeah. Martin is our best player on defense. Any further word on Pettus? He still hasn't played since he went down.

If we have lost Martin for the rest of the season (crossing my fingers that we didn't!) I wonder if we could see Gates move back to Rover where he was a starter two years ago. Sutton could possible start at Safety (played well there when Gates was ejected in the MSU game) or Pettus (if he's even healthy or able to play).

Martin and Cohen sounds like a vaudeville act...
This could be their song.
I'm Martin....he's Cohen we hope you like our show and we hope youall come back again

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I heard someone behind me referring to him as "Droplin".BGSU33 wrote:I had faith in Joplin but that drop was a killer. I really think he could have scored on it too. These guys aren't professionals playing for a paycheck, so I hate to see a kid get criticized in that way, but it's hard to argue that he hasn't earned that moniker.

Martin - Torn ACL, done for the year.
Cohen - 5-6 weeks. High ankle sprain.

That injury for Martin is a killer. Unless you're Adrian Peterson it's a full year rehab to get back to 100%. If he's not ready for next year, probably looking at a medical redshirt for 2014. Wow.
I would think Cohen's injury also means the redshirt is definitely off Teo Redding.

Re: Status on Martin and Cohen?
Martin has used a redshirt year, so you would have to go for a hardship year.
