KDog - we have a football program competitive every week but one and winning most. Or the program that draws one 20K+ crowd a year in an old, outdated facility - and we can compare that two our other main program that can't punch it's way out of a paper bag in a state of the art facility. The man deserves out thanks. Okay to be frustrated and question, but I for one am thankful for Coach Clawson!

This the state of men's athletics at BG. It's so bad we're content with a mediocre football team and yes until we actually beat good teams that is what we are. Hockey has been so bad that most fans are now proud of a 12-20-5 type season. Basketball is a joke of what it was in the late 90s. Our smaller sports generally stink it up every year. I know I'm not the only who wants a one damn Men's team winning MAC championships.

I do like the foundation Clawson built but he is seriously lacking in his in game coaching and preparation at the FBS level. His teams are uninspired whether they are play Virginia Tech Toledo or Murray State.

The thing that bothers me the most is his team is talented and deep enough to be 7-1 and on the verge of being a top 25 team. Yet we still absolutely do not win close games or beat above average teams. I'm not OK with only beating losing teams and nobody else should be after nearly 5 years here. BG has 3 losing seasns since 2001 and he owns 2 of them. Let's stop pretending he worked miracles here. He did nice work building depth and getting rid of the garbage Brandon had enrolled here but he's not a championship coach at this level.

I would love the team to go out and prove me wrong

Amen. Preach it! You are totally correct. It's sooooo sad. BGSU Fans are so used to mediocrity that we continue, and continue AND CONTINUE to defend our average coaches and teams, as some are doing here. Any smart, responsible and knowledgeable college football fan can look at this situation and see the writing on the wall that Clawson isn't the man for the job and needs to go. But we sit and argue, till we can't argue anymore, that Clawson is the man for the job. Did the same thing for that useless piece of tree bark Orr, and look where that got us. BG loses to OU or Buffalo and loses the MAC East, send Clawson and Co. packing.

While you are at it . . . "Traffic Control" (University, City, and or County Police) may want to go to and observe how traffic (foot and auto) is handled at tosu (or any other major traffic venue, I believe - for major sporting events or concerts, etc). They are very good at getting traffic IN and OUT of these events. Traffic is moved efficiently and quickly. They use ONE WAY traffic in and ONE WAY traffic out. And they have cops stationed to keep the cars moving. They shut off the traffic lights and MOVE the cars with cops in the streets directing (They WILL have to get out of their cars). Side streets are held up, as sidewalks would be and Not the main event traffic flow coming in or leaving! They do not let foot traffic wander thru the auto traffic like lost sheep. That is dangerous and just holds up the line as everyone waits as people cross. They have designated specific safe crossing areas and hold people there and then stop traffic for the people to move safely across. I still don't know WHO is in control of the traffic either - the rent a cops, BGSU, BG, Wood Co. Sheriff? I've seen various police staring at me from their cars, while I'm sitting in a single lane for 20-30 mins waiting to get out of the lots (Stroh or Doyt). There seems to be NO system other than then using the stop lights for 'every day traffic'. Golly there's maybe 5,7, 10,000 EXTRA CARS trying to move. Please go to a major venue and see how it is done. They don't sit in their cars watching every one waiting in lines, They MOVE the vehicles out - quickly. (just please don't go to the Nutter Center in Dayton. I've been to concerts there and they a have NO clue. I believe they use traffic control students who also stand and stare at the cars in the non moving lines and do nothing).
Please Try Something Different To Move The Cars Safely and Quickly. It also seems stupid to close that Entrance across from the Wooster shopping center - and don't tell me it releaves traffic on I75 - there was a line up out there. Use the Berm, put up signs (that you can SEE and READ that say FOOTBALL PARKING $10 - THIS LANE ONLY and then have enough ticket takers to keep the cars moving. As mentioned: A. decide who is in charge first (Kent State uses all Ohio State Patrol - they're everywhere over there)
B. call Columbus Police (Ann Arbor, any major venue) or whoever and I'm sure they would give/show you tips on Traffic Control. And please don't say BG doesn't compare to the Bigs, It's all traffic control and commonsense on a smaller scale.
phew . . .I feel better now....relieved some of that game disappointment!

I'm pretty sure we have lost 3 and 2 I'm a row. All things point to 1 or 2 more.

This is not about losing one game, and you know it. It's about a four-year pattern of losses by this coaching staff that continued on Saturday. Look through some of the statistics others have brought up on this page, and you'll see why people are unhappy in general, but very unhappy about losing to their rival school for the FOURTH TIME IN A ROW.

Do you like losing to Toledo four times in a row? I sure don't.

That, combined with the fact that this team has started every game this season very slow (and generally behind) and Clawson's poor record in close games and against teams with winning records, and you have some very good reasons why people are frustrated with this coaching staff.

No, it's not about one game. It's about one game that epitomizes a systemic problem in the football program.
