It comes down to two things. It has to either be an event I don't want to miss in person or a community I feel so invested in that I want to be with those people. Some of you have those connections.
For me I would probably go to literally any other stadium in the country because it would be new. Why go to watch a boring product at a stadium I know well.
Pretty soon there will be six megaconferences who only play eachother and we will be a step up from Findlay.
Seems to me that YOU were the guy comlaining about BG athletics and football in particular, and admitted you hadn't been to a game in ...what...13 years? You've got no bitch coming IMO.
None of us were happy with the end results on Sat. but it still proved to be an entertaining and exciting game, right up to the last dropped pass and incompletion. And NO, I'm not "content" with mediocrity...just wonder how many of you guys ever actually played any sport, especially at the college leverl, much less D-1 level.
(That was my son's take on the game after listening to some nearby folks complaining about EVERY missed tackle, dropped pass, refs call etc....of course, he only played 4 yrs. of lacrosse at OSU , two as a team capt., so what would he know?)

How ridiculous to criticize fans who haven't played D1 sports for their comments by basically saying that, since they didn't play the sport, they can't possibly have a valid point. At least that's what you seem to be insinuating. If it is: it's total hogwash. I could easily say what does playing lacrosse have to do with playing football? Perhaps your son should keep his yap shut, too.
See how that could work?
But I won't do that because I believe people who are fans have a right to express themselves and their disappointments -- especially when, as many on here have done, they back it up with facts and statistics that clearly show the program has failed to progress during Clawson's tenure. Things like: a very poor winning percentage against teams with winning records; a very poor record in close games; no wins in big games; no wins against his rival.
All of that isn't just people spouting off emotionally, it's them presenting facts that are fairly damning in how this program has not progressed under Clawson. I didn't even bring up the continual slow starts that put the team in a hole they keep having to climb out of -- and eventually came back to bite them on Saturday.
My health prevents me from traveling to games, so I haven't been able to attend one in person in a long time -- but I'd wager I keep up with what's happening to BG's sports programs better than a lot of people who do attend games regularly.
You going to say I have no credibility, either?
