HUGE night in the MAC East tonight!

Post by BGSU33 »

This is a HUGE night in the MAC East tonight. The top three teams in the East are all in action and none of them have a loss vs the East. BG is searching for its first win in a month looking to keep pace over on ESPNU, and Ohio and Buffalo will be fighting it out over on ESPN2. That game is going to tell us a lot. Is UB for real, or is Ohio still the team to beat in the East? I don't like these midweek games but tonight is a big one in several ways.
GO BG!!!

I don't like the mid week games until I wake up and realize that I can watch football tonight instead of Dragnet reruns on Netflix....

Need to root for Ohio tonight. Buffalo still has to play Toledo at the Glass Bowl which will be a tough game. BG can win the East outright so long as Ohio wins tonight and BG wins out.

I'm starting to enjoy the midweek football. I've pretty much given up on good attendance numbers at BG. At least we'll get to be on National TV a few times.

Plus both the MAC East and West title races will play out in Primetime on ESPN. Great exposure for the conference. 4 weeks left in the season and all of these teams control their own destiny. Ball State, NIU, BG, Ohio, and Buffalo. With Toledo still in the mix. Kudos to the schedule makers.

On a side note for next weeks game.....if Ohio wins tonight, the game will be on ESPNU. If Buffalo wins, it will be on ESPN3.

I think we win the east if we win out...doesn't matter what OU does

Right, but we've seen in past seasons where crazy things have happened and tie-breakers rear their ugly heads.

Buffalo is 4-0 in MAC... Finish with Ohio, Toledo, Miami & BG
Ohio is 3-1 in MAC... Finish with Buffalo, BG, Kent & UMass
BG is 3-1 in MAC... Finish with Miami, Ohio, EMU & Buffalo

BG probably has the "easiest" schedule of the 3 teams. The winner of the East should only have 1 loss.

I'm not sure who to root for tonight in the Buffalo/OU game. Lots of injuries?

My ideal scenario... we take care of business the next 3 games and play UB for the MAC East. I want revenge from that '08 game. At home and winning 27-7 in the 4th, we lose the game (and the East) in OT. That one still hurts.
