Its a mistake. The BG Football Facebook page also says ESPNU. Apparently they were planning for this to be a national TV game but ESPN pulled the rug out.footballguy51 wrote:The signs stuck in the grass around campus say we're being televised nationally on ESPN. Did things change? Or, did they make these signs way too far in advance?

Re: BG-Ohio TV
I watched the BG/Toledo game on ESPN3. The picture quality reminded me of trying to watch a 1979 Pistons game on channel 50 out of Detroit on a black-and-white TV with bunny ears, hoping the wind would blow the right direction over Lake Erie.
I'll be doing the same thing on Tuesday.

Loved channel 50 out of Detroit back in the day. Wasn't Dave Bing on those telecasts...now the mayor? Channel 50 also has the Three Stooges on everyday!San Diego Falcon wrote:I watched the BG/Toledo game on ESPN3. Dang....I don't get all the hate for ESPN3. You can watch a ton of games..I don't have any problem with picture quality going into my flat screen and you can watch them again after the game is done.

I understand the hate for a Tuesday night game only being available on the internet and not national TV, but like you I have had zero issues watching BG games on ESPN3 this year. I have time Warner cable Internet but do not use them for television service so for me the game may as well not be televised at all.
I'm one that doesn't think moving these games to Tuesday's is worth it even if you are on espn2 or u. So for the game to be on an Internet broadcast only is just laughable.

Seems to me that BOTH our game w/ MU AND the OU/Buffalo game were being shown on Tues. nite, so why THIS? Frankly, it stinks! I like to record the games for "re viewing" later...and can't do it if it's on the computer alone.mscarn wrote:Apparently it was between us and Buffalo/Toledo and they got the call. Disgraceful. E3 archives them... you can go all the way back the Military bowl for BG IIRC... If you want to build a multi year library... I guess you're stuck.

I think it was you who said something about hooking the computer to the TV or something like that anyway.... how hard would it be to do...especially for an "electronics do do" like me?

Re: BG-Ohio TV
Not sure... I think it would depend on your computer....I have a MS tablet... all it took was a $6 micro USB to HDMI cable and wireless keyboard and I was using my TV as a monitor... Netflix looks awesome...

Re: BG-Ohio TV
If you Google, "how to hook up computer to TV", it give you the different options , depending on the type of TV and computer you are using. It really is very simple, if you just have the correct cable.

Bought one of these over the summer. Amazing little device that lets you stream from your phone or laptop browser.

I love ESPN 3. I have seen just about every BG over the last 3 years. Without it I probably would hardly follow BG. Typically my picture is decent. I'll take a horrible picture over no picture any day.Flipper wrote:Dang....I don't get all the hate for ESPN3.
