BG vs USF

Post by BGSU33 »

On paper this is our big-named non-conference opponent this year as USF is in the AAC (formerly Big East). Hopefully we'll have a good turnout since it's part of the doubleheader. The Bulls come in at 2-0. If this game is half as exciting as last year's matchup it should be decent.

I'm hoping for a good game. It's the first chance of seeing how this group matches up with actual D1 competition. I have no idea if USF is good or bad, but I have a feeling they're a billion times better than Earlham.

Looking forward to this game for sure!

And I don't normally say this, but I'm glad the women play first. Gives me time to hit a bar for dinner and some beers before the start of the men's game :) If we're gonna play on Friday nights I'm a pretty big fan of the 8:30 tip.

It's listed as an 8:30pm start? Is that correct?

Yes. I believe the women tip at 6.

Nice that they FINALLY listed it as 2 1/2 hours after the start of the first game. It seems as though for years they would put it at 2 hours after the start of the first game then when you got there you'd realize you still had to wait around for 45 mins.

Or, you could go to both games? Might as well watch one good team on Friday evening.

It's a 7:30 PM tip for those in the Central Time Zone.

Or 1:30 AM for Hammb (since he is on GMT)

And 0130 ZULU for those in the Military.

I'll take my chances with dinner and some beers. I love the time slot though.

I doubt you could piss us off, to be honest. No matter what you think of women's basketball, watching it can't possibly be worse than watching the train wreck that is BG men's basketball. We know that, and you know that. Even though I'm sure you'll never admit it :)

USF comes in to BG about a 5-point favorite. I'm looking forward to this game to show us something about what we really have as a team this year. If ever there was a "measuring stick" game for us I think it would be tonight. We've had two tune-ups and now get a decent test.

I want to chime in here before this thread does a jump stop in the wrong direction and heads to women's basketball...lets do a nice fundamental two handed bounce pass back to the USF game.

3 things about USF you didn't know.
1. The team is coached by Kent St legend Stan Heath. (maybe you knew that but I didn't)
2. They have three players averaging double figures way less then us....boo ya
a. Victor Rudd 18.5 6-9 Sr
b. Corey Allen 14.0 6-1 Jr
c. Chris Perry 13.5 6-8 Fr
3. Let me tell you something brother....Hulk Hogan and Gallagher both attended.

Stan Heath should start each day by calling Gary Waters and thanking him for his career. Jim Christian is on call waiting for Waters....

Our crappy men's team would likely destroy a WNBA All Star team.

No matter what state our men's program is in, I will always find it infinitely more entertaining than women's basketball.
