Walk ons
Walk-ons Josh Jones, a 5-11 sophomore from Bellefontaine, and Brandon Busuttil, a 6-4 guard from Kitchener, Ontario, are also working out with the team. If both are added to the roster, BG will have 14 players.

Re: BG vs USF
Dear God our football team MUST....I repeat....MUST....beat Buffalo to extend our season because if we don't go to the MACC and a bowl, it's going to be a LONG, LONG, LONG winter.........
GO BG!!!
Re: BG vs USF
It must be winter, it's been a while since I've seen Lou look lost walking off the court.

I'll take my chances with dinner and some beers. I love the time slot though.
No matter what state our men's program is in, I will always find it infinitely more entertaining than women's basketball.
I am always baffled when people suggest that a men's team could beat a WNBA team. I haven't got a clue what the point of that comparison is. Most WBB fans aren't suggesting the women are good enough to beat men - they're saying that WBB is just as entertaining as MBB. Of course there is going to be a talent disparity between men's and women's basketball - the men have had, you know, just a few decades more to develop, from high school through pro ball. That doesn't mean there aren't talented, athletic WBB players, and it doesn't mean WBB can't be exciting to watch.
Also I've been to multiple WNBA games, and at least those teams can execute an offensive set. Watched the second half of this game and I'm just baffled. There's some talented players on the floor, really. Holmes has a ton of potential, just like he always has. And is still not being used effectively. I'm always surprised at Orr's lack of emotion. As a matter of personality, some coaches are fiery and active in the game, and some are more subdued, but Orr has always been a as expressive as a rock.
Re: BG vs USF
Thankful someone knows who the hell they are and can toss a little info our way. It would be nice if the team's media relations contact could do the same. I guess that would one, take too much time (5 minutes) to add a few names to the roster, and two, it would make it way too easy for someone to log on to bgsufalcons.com and get a complete roster and an answer to a question such as we had tonight. Jeez, give me a damn laptop and 10 minutes with team and I can update the roster and bios for crying out loud.Globetrotter wrote:http://www.sent-trib.com/bgsu-sports/bg ... e-10-20-13

Re: BG vs USF
From the looks of twitter Busuttil seems to be thrilled to be a Falcon, die hard with the hoops squad and dating a cheerleader. Are you telling me that someone can't get some publicity from writing a story about the Canadian kid who ends up at BG fights his way on to the hoops squad as a sophomore and is dating one of the cheerleaders. This is like a made up story about BG hoops and love for falcon traditions.BGSU33 wrote:Thankful someone knows who the hell they are and can toss a little info our way. For those of you who hated Crawford it seems pretty systematic here considering Henderson and Clarke basically filled that role this game. For a coach who played the big man role in college and the pros it would seem pretty simple to tell the players that you can't shoot outside until someone in the paint touches the ball.
Re: BG vs USF
To me basketball is, first and foremost, a game of athleticism. And the women don't lag by just a few decades there, they lag by millions of years of evolution that the simply cannot overcome. I want my team to run offensive sets because they are a good way to win but for entertainment value? I couldn't care less. I wanna see ankle breaking dribbles, high flying dunks and alley oops, in your face blocks, etc. pretty much everything I find entertaining about the sport of basketball is something the women are simply not capable of. When I watch the game (which I do try to avoid as much as possible) its simply sloooooow and boring to me.ccollin13 wrote:This my last "hijack your thread" post, I promisehammb wrote:My last post on the subject as well...I've laid it out in the past.ccollin13 wrote:I doubt you could piss us off, to be honest. You may feel there are some athletic WBB players, and sure by women's standards they are, but compared to even the worst men's players they really aren't athletic. I know my opinion is not gospel. And certainly there are plenty of you all that enjoy women's hoops but for me, for the things I enjoy about basketball? The women's game is simply boring.
Re: BG vs USF
I was thinking just that as the game finished up. Clearly our clueless coach enjoys watching his guards pound the ball and take tons of shots. I have no idea why we continue running guys off screens game after game, year after year when he has yet to recruit a single guy that can actually shoot the damned ball while coming off a screen.Globetrotter wrote:For those of you who hated Crawford it seems pretty systematic here considering Henderson and Clarke basically filled that role this game. And both Henderson and clark got some very good looks inside today but neither of them can finish at all in traffic. They almost look as though they expect the foul and a trip to the line whenever they get inside off the dribble.
That USF team didn't really play basketball all night long and they still beat us on our home court by 14. If they would have spent the game looking for good shots rather than trying to get the big dunks and fun plays they could've probably beaten us by 25.

LOL! The sad thing is we'll have paid him about a cool million dollars to give us this mess. If we all could also be so lucky. I'd be saying "to God be the glory" every chance I could too if someone paid me a million dollars to piss down my leg also.hammb wrote:To god be the glory. You fools are paying me for one last year!

Re: BG vs USF
For the first five-12 minutes I was really encouraged. We were actively attacking the basket. Cleaning things up. Getting to the post etc. Clarke looked good, Henderson looked good. Parker was active. Then they started to get blocked and had 0 response. They got tired and passes weren't crisp. They weren't getting back on Defense. They started fouling and wanted to stay in the game so they were not as aggressive. At the end Clarke wanted to get his points and it seemed that Henderson did too. I saw the Allen Iverson "as long as I get mine" attitude. And I am not sure I blame Clarke or Henderson because there wasn't an offense to run through. I saw Black get the ball in the post and make a move that he should be able to score on in the MAC 7-10 times. It was incredible, yet he shot 5 times at most. Why in the world don't we run the offense through Holmes and Black in the post? I was encouraged that Gomez actually has a role on this team as the third big, and that's important. I was encouraged that Parker could, under the right circumstances actually be a star. IMO we have 3 guys getting minutes that can be studs Clarke-Holmes-Parker. Black is just under that but they just don't demand he shoots enough.hammb wrote:I was thinking just that as the game finished up. Re: BG vs USF
I thought we missed Chauncey in this one. I think he really must get 30 minutes in every game (when healthy). Excellent fundamental defender. Can hit the three. Makes foul shots pretty well. Cares deeply about winning. Decent handle.
Without Chauncey, we are missing both our glue guy and one of our most talented players. This on a team w a very short bench/roster. I hope he is able to get back soon.
Go Falcons!
