BG v. Marist

Post by ccollin13 »

At the arena now. Leah Bolton is dressed and warming up with the team. Hope we get to see her play today.

We have a decent contingent of fans, plus a few rows of OSU fans who came early to see this game too.

Go Falcons! Let's show them who is the best of the reigning mid-major powers.

When does it start? WBGU is still playing head-banging crap.

Well, once I figured out that WBGU was carrying the hockey game, I found the basketball game on WFAL, only to hear them lose. Funny, but both ESPN and CBS game tracker still doesn't have a thing even after the game.

Tough loss for the Falcons. Marist made their 3's and free throws.

Can't expect to win when the bench only provides 3 points the whole game. Time to rebound and beat the Monarchs tomorrow

I was also at the game. It was good to see Leah Bolton dressed and go through warmups, but she is still dragging that knee...it appears to me that she is still quite a few days from seeing game action.

I don't know if I should say this, but after thinking about it...I was embarrassed by the loud complaining by several in the BG fan section. I am not saying that the officials were the best I have seen, but a few individuals got carried away with the complaining. I know many times I am baffled by a few calls, as I was last night. But, constantly yelling about almost every single call that goes against BG and every call not made against Marist for the entire game, really doesn't help. The officials are not going to change their calls because someone in the stands yells at them.

As for the game...Marist made a ton of 3's and almost all of their FT's. I also thought we looked like tired late in the game.

I will not be able to make the rest of the games this weekend...anyone that is able, please go and cheer FOR our team, they deserve our support.

I wasn't at the game and can't speak to the specifics of the foul complaints.

But I have the completely opposite point of view when taken in general. If the fouls are running like the totals from the Marist game were and I view some calls to be bad, you bet I'm going to boo. It has to remain civil and can be done with proper decorum. For instance, the language has to be appropriate and without anything too derogatory. It's my belief that anything less falls into the realm of merely spectating at that point.
