And if anyone stayed up to watch the Navy game (like I did, while in bed), some officiating errors led to SJSt. tieing the game in regulation....but the Navy QB was unbelievable.! He scored SEVEN rushing TD's, and SJSt. couldn't stop him...Watching Navy's OL is interesting since there is very little pulling, just straight ahead blocking with a solid push...and this time their kicker didn't screw it up like he did against UT.

SJST's QB, the one who hurt us in the bowl game, threw for FIVE Td's and ran for another....it was a QB dominated game to say the least.

Navy win is important on 2 fronts. Should San Jose beat Fresno, NIU will be in the BCS. Should they lose another bowl slot opens. Way to go Midshipmen!

There will be no shortage of bowl spots as of tonight, there are 70 teams that are now bowl eligible (there are 70 bowl spots). Although, one of them (UTSA) will likely get pushed down the pecking order because they are in their second year transitioning to FBS. So in reality, there are 69, however, there are still 12 teams that can still become bowl eligible with most of them needing just one win to achieve that feat. There are 126 FBS teams with 70 in, 44 out and 12 still alive for the 70 total spots. If you figure at least half of those 12 get in you're going to have a half dozen bowl-eligible teams sitting at home.

We all know Bowl game committees like offense and have a "what have you done lately" mentality." They have short memories which means wins later in the season seem to mean more than early season wins. Well, the Falcons have done their part to impress Bowl committees. Consider these numbers: In games 4 through 11 this team has a 304-84 advantage. In the two losses during that run they lost by a total of 4 points. In the last 3 games they have out scored their opponents 152-10 and in the last 14 quarters 170-17. The defense has not surrendered a touchdown in the last 12 quarters. Now not all programs have the luxury of playing Miami, Umass and EMU, but you still need offensive weapons and playmakers to post those gaudy numbers and BG has those weapons and playmakers. Now, I don't know if any of this will matter in the final analysis should the Falcons come up short on Friday but officials in the MAC office certainly have facts enough to use to make the case for our Falcons to be an attractive bowl team. With all that said: BEAT BUFFALO!

I think we've got a bowl game wrapped up. 8 game teams pretty much always go bowling. But you know what is more attractive than an 8 win team? A 10 win conference champion!!

Mississippi State just became bowl eligible with back-to-back overtime wins in consecutive weeks. That just knocked someone out of a bowl.
