Re: BG @ Buffalo game thread -MAC East Title Game
I think our players are bringing it today. The timidness of the coaching staff is letting them down. First series is a prime example: Buffalo calls a flea-flicker, while we call a run on 3rd-and-6.
I've been a lurker for most of the season and thought the criticism of Clawson was overblown. Now I'm understanding. With Clawson's appoach, you need to be able to overwhelm your opponents with talent. That's not the situation at the top of the MAC. I can see us winning 8-9 games consistently with him, but conference titles will be hard to come by.

We look like Eastern Michigan
Re: BG @ Buffalo game thread -MAC East Title Game
Few quick thoughts ...
Ronnie Moore? Where are you? Is he affected by the cold?
Our defense has allowed one big drive, when they were figuring out the speedy UB offense. I'm not worried there.
Johnson hasn't been his normal elusive self ... until that final drive.
I'm expecting big second half adjustments and a big start to the second half. If we get rolling, UB will not keep up with our defense.
Mack is as expected. I'd rather not double team him all the time. That might be an adjustment.

I totally agree but this is the coach we hired.... Conservative okay defense and run the same plays over and over... Also if your really want to know how conservative it is Jordan Hopgood has played more snaps the all year...why? Because he wants to protect Johnson because he is scare to death of Mack....the defense and st will have to win this game because the coach won't let them

Re: BG @ Buffalo game thread -MAC East Title Game
Our receivers need to step up their game in the 2nd half. Too many slips and drops. If they don't get the job done the offense will continue to be very limited. The game plan came out strong and when it was time to put it in the air the receivers did not step up. To give them a little wiggle room Buffalo's receivers didn't look good initially but they have done a better job as the game went on.
Defense and special teams look good.

I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

I don't think so. He was in on special teams. I'm wondering if, being a Florida kid, he's not able to hold on to a cold ball as well as the seasoned veterans. Sure he can practice in the cold, but he's only done it for a month so far.bgsufan1970 wrote:Is Ronnie Moore injured?

Hopgood is playing more due to an injury and the offense is conservative when your receivers look like Bambi on ice.60yearsofsicsic wrote:I totally agree but this is the coach we hired.... You can't win championships being this timid on offense. Running on first down all the time (and most of the time on second); and being even more predictable on third and short is a sure-fire recipe for another loss.
Open up the damn offense.
Open up the damn offense.

He is a football player that's like saying because Eddie Lacy grew up in Louisiana and played at Bama he should sit during a Green Bay home game
