We missed on this kid-

I saw him play many times and he will be special. Stud sprinter as well. Anyone out there with a rivals account have a read on this guy?

Rushed for 3,360 yards in his career and totaled 40 touchdowns... Was a second-team All-NOL, first-team All-District andhonorable mention All-Ohio pick as a junior when he ran for 1,176 yards and 16 TD’s... also caught 12 recepetions for 126 yards and two touchdowns... Helped lead Redmen to back-to-back league titles... Lettered three times in football and four times in track and field... Was coached by Ed Nasanti. PERSONAL: Born 8/1/86.. Parents are James Arrington and Letesia Jones... Plans to major in sports management.

Keys veraballed to Kent months ago and shopped himself around again last month drawing offers from Cincy and I think Indiana before fianlly deciding to sign with Kent

I agree that he could have been a good addition to this class. I also would have liked the fact that he is a local talent.

Who knows? Was he looking for immediate playing time? Unlikely here given that the Popemobile, B.J. and Macon are in the mix. If he has good skills, my guess is Kent will get him some PT ASAP.

Where grades a factor? Dunno? Would he fit in a spread offense? He had a few catches, but how were his hands? More importantly, can he block? Again, dunno.

Sounds like the RB we did get could be quite good, too. I'm guessing he'll be wearing a redshirt this year.

You know, that's a small, but very important indicator for where our program is headed. It means that we've developed depth, which we certainly didn't have when Urban arrived. That added bonus is that it means more players are getting an extra year to develop, which will pay dividends down the road. If this is all as it sounds, we have the cycle moving in the proper direction now and have the foundation for a great program.

Man, I love football. Hey, where's Freak? I need to know when the season starts!

Oh, and I cannot wait to see Winovich at linebacker.

Mack played in seven games to be exact. Oops. Two freshman played then. I think he played an awful lot during the Temple game if I remember correctly.

Who didn't play alot during the Temple game. Could have followed the script of the movie "The Waterboy" and allowed the waterboy, the trainers, or even the towel boy get some playing time

It could also be an indication that we dont recruit players who are ready to play right away. The best teams in the nation have true freshman starting.

Are you kidding me!?!? Do we have to turn EVERYTHING into a negative around here?

Even "the best teams in the nation" get true freshmen starting once in a blue moon, especially at the skill positions. These are the kids that are so far above and beyond everyone else anyway, that for a school like BG to land them to begin with would be a major coup. Even then, alot of times it comes out of a "desperate" situation. Look at Michigan this year. They had Hart and Henne put together solid seasons, but they were a QB injury and two or three RB injuries away from not seeing the field. With OSU, running an offense that is jealous of molasses (until, inexplicably the last two games of they year...), you're a fool to leave Ted Ginn on the bench, just to possibly save him for one more year, especially when you might not even get that out of them before the NFL calls.

For 99% of freshmen coming in at ALL schools, its the right call to give them a year in the system, acclimate them to practices, study habits, training, etc., and let them play their four years with a year of experience under their belt first. I think its great that we don't have to pin our hopes on a high school kid to fill a position as soon as he steps on campus. Hopefully they're ready if they ARE needed, but in the long run, I like it. Alot.

I was just going to say the same thing. Have pride in what are program is becoming. Be positive, not negative. I truely believe the reason many "freshman" play at the big campuses is because 1) they get highly recruited and they are told they will play, if not they will not go to school there. 2) The coach would be fired if he did not play them 3) The administration knows that the kid will probably leave after his junior year

Bowling Green is developing a strong deep team. Why dress a freshman and have him play 10 snaps a game when we can redshirt him, get him used to college atmosphere, get him in the weight room, and start him as a sophmore, or at least have him play a little bit more than 10 snaps a game. Their is nothing wrong in being redshirted when most athletes take 5+ years to graduate anyways.
