Re: Fire Clawson!
That was some of the stupidesr s**t ive seen on this site. And it came from some people who were sticking by Orr even two and three years ago. Coach Clawson will be missed. A BiG thamks for turning the program around. Imwish we could pay him enough to stay.

Did anyone actually say "fire Clawson"?....
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Hey now: don't let actual facts get in the way of someone's rant. They clearly have a point to make...I guess.Flipper wrote:Did anyone actually say "fire Clawson"?....

Re: Fire Clawson!
Posts on this website were used to create a story in the NWO/Toledo media outlets - it put our fanbase in a bad light. Heard about it from the non-BG people at work and around the community. The rants on this site created it. Sorry if that hurts anybody's feelings but that's the reality in NW Ohio.BGWriter wrote:Hey now: don't let actual facts get in the way of someone's rant. Understood there was something in the print edition of The Blade and some reference on TV or radio. Don't know that it was a real story but got people talking about BG fans.

No specific reference to the rants here but this is part of what started the talk

After what DC and his family faced as OC at Tennessee, this criticism wasn't so bad. As much as I also was disappointed with the lack of big wins (especially over BCS teams), I still wanted to see the coaching staff and team work through it. Remember this is DC's first HC job at the D1A level so he is also learning. Each year has seen us improve (omitting the first year with Brandon's seniors) in a variety of ways. I hope DC and his staff stay 10 more years.

In Clawson's first year, his team won 7 games basically on the backs of 2 guys. Maybe that's hyperbole, but not a big stretch.
As long as we are giving credit where credit is due, does anyone recall the name of the person who hired Dave Clawson as the head coach?
Re: Fire Clawson!
Myself and many others were vocal in our disappointment but myself and many others never wanted him fired. I'm sure there were a few that said fire but they were in the few. Our criticism was still warranted IMO, we underachieved through 8 games this year. Most of us were very upset because we knew we had the talent to play like we have the last 4 games.
