Kind of amazing Cash is that high. He was not that tall and played on a front line with 6'10" Skip Howard and 7 Cartwright. if I recall correctly. Plus he had only three years of eligibility
Re: Block Party: Holmes and Black
Did they keep block statistics when Nate Thurmond played?

What would be hilarious is if around some home game Black and Holmes tie and then start going back and forth and the announcer can say. Holmes just passed cam black for fourth all time. Black just passed Holmes for fourth all time. Holmes just passed black for fourth all time.

Pretty sure that Cash was 6'8" or 6' 9"....not a midget by any means... IIRC that was the team that lost in the NCAA's playing the game at KSU... think Dave Cowens played for Fla. State in the other game. Could be wrong after all these yrs, but thought that was the team.h2oville rocket wrote:Kind of amazing Cash is that high. 61. You're right about Cash's height. He was a 2nd round draft choice by both NBA and ABA but only played 6 games in the big time. But, he did not play on the NCAA team which was in '68. Cash played in the early 70's. The NCAA BG front line was anchored by Walt Piatkowski (6'8") and Al Dixon (6'10")Class of 61 wrote:Pretty sure that Cash was 6'8" or 6' 9"....not a midget by any means... 24th overall pick...he would have made some nice $$$ for a couple of years in today's game. His only NBA minutes were with the Pistons...that Piston team had some talent at PF (Marvin Barnes and Leon Douglas) so I think he got lost in the shuffle a bit

Re: Block Party: Holmes and Black
They listed him at 6'7" which is pretty short for a shot blocker. The NBA bio says 6'8". Tall, but when you're bookended by 6'10" and 7' it's pretty impressive that he got that many blocks.Class of 61 wrote:Pretty sure that Cash was 6'8" or 6' 9"....not a midget by any means...
