I don't see why the allotment is so small for bothschools. If you only have 3000 at the $10 price, I understand. But we should make it clear and still offer the convenience of ordering though the BG ticket office. Seems odd to send you to the venue website.

3000 + 3000 = 6000 of 65,000 stadium
Corporate tie-ins maybe 5000 tickets (just a guess)

If $10 tickets get more butts in the seats in Detroit, I don't see why BG couldn't find the funds or donations to keep it that price, as long as there is a demand for it.

I'd also bet that even if they sold their allotment, that after the MAC pays itself, that a small portion of sales is divied up between the two schools.

Also, just for reference, the past 3 MACC had attendances of: 12,031 (2010), 13,052 (2011), and 18,132 (2012). With so much on the line for NIU, I expect their biggest crowd. With BG being so close, I'd like to think 20k can be achieved. We shall see Friday though.

I think it would be SAD if this game couldn't get 20K...

The school is bringing ten buses to Detroit so it seems many people jumped on board this deal from the get go. My guess is like stated earlier, BG bought 3,000 tickets and ate half the cost to offer them cheap to those who were able to purchase them early. $20 is still a good deal, albeit the drive for some folks is longer than what some of us will have to endure and will likely factor in their decision of being able to go. It's still only $5 more than a game at the Doyt.

All of this is true. But the fact BG has 0 tickets left to sell, is a mistake.

I agree, and I think it speaks to a bigger issue of budgetary problems of the school that they couldn't buy up more. I don't think it's going to deter many people from going, if you're a BG fan this is a can't miss game, but it is a shame that the school couldn't have purchased more tickets. Another thing that will help is that this game has been getting a lot of attention on the Detroit sports radio stations.

I'm not concerned about BG only being able to purchase 3,000. It concerns me they only requested 3,000 total tickets. Is that what they think the fan base can support, for a game 90 miles from campus and closer for a lot of alums and fans?

Very good point. At this point its speculation on why it was only 3,000. Hopefully someone can find out from the ticket office why it was so few.

They only bought 3,000 tickets, remember they are likely paying the $10 difference in face value and sale price.

The greater question at this point is, will the BG ticket office be able to react and meet a definite need somehow?

I get that. Are MAC schools required to buy an allotment of tickets? 3,000 tickets is still a very small number. I would have expected BG to be able to sell 3,000 tickets for face value for a conference championship game. I wouldn't think the MAC offices would have teams losing money for making the title game.

I think it would have been ideal if BG ticket office communicated the allotment they had and at the cost they could offer. Then communicate clearly the link we should go to order tickets once they run out.

The whole process if very confusing with deadends if you try to find out anything without calling the ticket office.

I spoke to the ticket office. Each school got 3,000 from the MAC office, they are working to secure more and will hopefully have them today.

Now, about the Will Call situation... wonder if there's any chance of picking them up in Detroit earlier than 5:30pm at Ford Field. . . .

According to the BGAthletics Twitter account, they have secured additional tickets and they will be available later today.

Kudos to the Athletic department for making this happen... and quickly.
