Re: BG sold out of tickets
How are student tickets being distributed? Or did they have to purchase through the BG allotment?

Re: BG sold out of tickets
Student tickets were part of the allotment. Basically, the MAC office gave each school 3,000 tickets for everyone and anyone. BG requested more but I don't think it was more than 1,000 that were given. They will not be getting any future allotments so any future purchases have to go through the Ford Field box office.Falcon137 wrote:How are student tickets being distributed? The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.

If you choose the number you want and click continue, you get prompted there aren't any available.BGSU33 wrote:Here is where I ordered my online with BG/Ticketmaster (and it looks like you can still order them):

Re: BG sold out of tickets
The good thing is, there will be plenty of seats available for the game so no one will miss out. I hope as many of you can get $10 tickets, but no way would paying an extra $10 stop me from going. I made the post in another thread about how NIU was giving its season ticket holders a free MACC or bowl ticket. So yeah, as a BG season ticket holder, it would be nice to get a free ticket since I'm spending all kinds of money on a hotel, parking, gas food, etc. But I'm not gonna let $10 turn me away. Hope all of you go. Should be a great game. GO BG!!!

It works with single tickets if you select one. If you want to get $10 seats, this may help if you do them one at a time. You know you'll be able to move around once there.jpfalcon09 wrote:If you choose the number you want and click continue, you get prompted there aren't any available.BGSU33 wrote:Here is where I ordered my online with BG/Ticketmaster (and it looks like you can still order them):

Agreed 100% I would probably pay $50 or more a ticket to go to this game. Roll Along...

Re: BG sold out of tickets
I called to verify something on our ticket order...they said that the additional THREE HUNDRED they'd be given are now all sold out.
Still doesn't make sense to limit the PARTICIPATING teams 3000...they should be thrilled to go almost unlimited on this game.
Another thing to think about....if we have a great turnout for this game, it'd make us more desireable for the bowl game in Detroit. Don't know what the pecking order is for the MAC guaranteed bowls is this year, but I'd think NIU would be most wanted if they DON'T get to a BCS bowl.

The school was able to get more tickets yet again, so good news!BGSU33 wrote:It works with single tickets if you select one. If you want to get $10 seats, this may help if you do them one at a time. Re: BG sold out of tickets
Yeah....you would think the MAC would hand BG 10,000 tickets and say go for it. I know why they are doing it, they want 20 bucks off each ticket. I still doubt BG is buying them from the MAC and selling them at a loss. You would think the MAC would want as many tickets sold at whatever price. Even if BG brings 10,000 people there are going to be 45,000 empty seats.Class of 61 wrote:I called to verify something on our ticket order...they said that the additional THREE HUNDRED they'd be given are now all sold out.

You can get $10 General Admission seats. The idea of being grouped with BG fans is why I wanted the chance for tickets through BG.

Re: BG sold out of tickets
I would imagine BG only got 3,000 tickets up front so that they could assure the best seats were sold first. If BG were given 10,000 seats along the sideline and only sold 7,000 that would leave 3,000 prime tickets unsold. By pushing them out a couple thousand at a time the sideline tickets can still be sold through Ticketmaster and at the stadium.
ESPN must being paying well for the game in order for the MAC to break even with the recent attendance and at this price. At the same time can our athletic department afford to eat half the price? Must be a deal through the MAC office.
