Owens didn't acheive much lifetime either. Haven't heard a single UT fan who thought he desrved third team over Johnson. Fluellen was head and shoulders better than any other MAC RB. His numbers dropped some while playing on a broken leg but he was a beast when healthy and got good numbers against some stiff competition. BG had a nice group of players on the team but Johnson clearly got screwed. I think Schiltz was Third team as a soph was he not?

Head and shoulders better? No....I think he's a first team guy if he plays all year...but, he didn't play all year. Look at Gabe Martin...he's a tremendous LB, certainly one of the three best in the conference. Since he didn't play at all after the Toledo game, I don't think you can say he's earned 1st team and he didn't. 2nd team was the right call there and it's where Fluellen should have landed too.

Having a defense as dominant as BG's with a single first team player is a gigantic slap in the face.

Makes you wonder who votes on this and how much they actually watch the games, or if they just looked at the stats at the end of the season and went off that. Johnson getting snubbed is a huge disservice considering he won three MAC East POW honors this year.

The voting is by MAC head coaches. If you watch Clawson's 12/4 pressed, he attributed the lack of first team Falcons to games missed due to injury.
