Nothing to cause BG concern. He's the 3rd former Brian Kelly offensive coordinator to get a head coaching job in the MAC after the UMass and Buffalo coaches. Quinn took four years to rebuild and they're already ready to run Molnar out of town. Notre Dame has won in spite of their offense the past 2 years he's been in charge.jpfalcon09 wrote:Chuck Martin has taken the Miami job, he was the OC at Notre Dame.

Re: Wake forest
As a big ND fan as well, I think Martin going to Miami is a big concern for BG. He was the OC for just this season at ND and coached the DBs last year, but was also their recruiting coordinator and can bring in talent. He took over for Kelly at Grand Valley State and was just as successful going 76 - 7 and won two National Championships. He's a perfect fit for Miami as he is very professional, high character kinda guy. Molnar doesn't have the resume that Martin does as a successful head coach and it's showing at UMass.mscarn wrote:Nothing to cause BG concern. Tracking flights from point A to point B is the hot thing in sports journalism...or is it sports "journalism"...these days. There was a lot of discussion about Robinson Cano possibly signing with Detroit a couple of weeks ago because he was supposedly at the charter airport in Ypsi and the Detroit News had tracked a chartered flight from NJ to Ypsi and back that same day.

LOL, Very strange. Can we look up these flights some how? You have to figure Clawson is atleast going to get interviews.Flipper wrote:Tracking flights from point A to point B is the hot thing in sports journalism...or is it sports "journalism"...these days. Re: Wake forest
It looks like this flight was actually a complete coincidence between the two cities, but from my friends that I've talked to down there, Lembo is #1 on their list with Pat Narduzzi a close #2.Globetrotter wrote:http://www.bloggersodear.com/2013/12/4/ ... um=twitter

From Pete Roussel at coachingsearch.com:
Wake Forest: Star-Press writer Ben Breiner reports that Wake Forest AD Ron Wellman has flown to Detroit, site of the MAC championship game. Bowling Green head coach Dave Clawson is likely on Wellman's radar.

Wellman is a BG grad. Maybe he's going for the gambling and bar scene and will pay an extra $10 bucks as a walk-up buyer.jpfalcon09 wrote:From Pete Roussel at coachingsearch.com:

I still don't see Clawson taking this job that's as close to a coaching graveyard as there is in the business. The only possible rationale is that he's not an immediate turnaround guy like Urban Meyer and Wake Forest will gladly give him time considering how bad they are.
Do other MAC coaches attend the game? Wellman could consider this neutral ground to interview a Pete Lembo and throw the plane-trackers off the scent.

According to http://www.coacheshotseat.com/SalariesContracts.htm Wake Forest paid $2.4 million to its head coach as opposed to the $375,000 BG paid its head coach.
That's a lot of reasons to leave.

Like Lou Holtz told Urban Meyer..."if it was a good job they wouldn't be talking to you."
