This. This. This.

That is the best all around game I've seen played by a BG team in a long, long, long time. And the best part? It's still a relatively young squad, so there's a lot of good to look forward to in the years ahead.

As to why there's a student doing the football SID duties, I think we all know the answer: $$$$ BG can be really, really cheap at times. Ridiculously so.

A tournament would be made for a team like bg. Running though teams now. Momentum.

Forgot to mention: Thank you Rod Carey for attempting a 58-yard FG and only giving the ball to Stingley 12 times. Much appreciated!

How about Ronnie Moore...probably the most unnoticed 145 receiving yards/1 td ever because it was mostly during the first half. Only a freshman...this kid's gonna be a stud.

He probably won't be next year. I'm sure the job offers will be coming in after that ESPN Infomercial!

SJSU Spartan Fan here. Great job BGSU! I think it is awesome, that the two "BCS busting" schools got beat by the two teams in last year's Military Bowl!

Go Falcons!
GO SPARTANS!!!

I shot that Military Bowl last year and yeah I was rooting for the Falcons last night (Surprised I remembered my password). NIU goes from penthouse (BCS) to outhouse (Potato Bowl in Idaho). Don't underestimate this team next time! I hope the Falcons (and Spartans) go to decent bowls.

I'm back at the Military Bowl, this time it is at Navy's stadium in Annapolis as that is where Maryland is slotted to go in just about all the bowl projections I've read.
Could BGSU get to someplace else other than Mobile?

Congrats on the win, huge for this program!

One thing to remember on the SID situation was that Dave Meyer (who was full time and covered football) left sometime in August I believe right before the football season started. The other full time SIDs likely hand their hands full already with their fall sports and the new full time person who was hired who does men's basketball wasn't hired til right before basketball season started. Honestly why does it matter that he is a student, his write ups and previews/game notes on the website have all been done really well, never once thought this must be a student doing them. Kid has a bright future in the field, sure this will be a great add to his resume.

Age does not make an SID. I have gotten to know Scotty for the past couple of years as the baseball SID, and he is TREMENDOUS! Not only knows his stuff but works his butt off. I was very disappointed they did not hire him full time to replace Dave Meyer, but will keep my fingers crossed that they find a permanent position at BGSU.

Just got back from Detroit. Helluva good time!!! Great game and even better outcome! Also had a blast spending time in the city before and after the game. Easily my most favorite BG game since becoming a Falcon 21 years ago myself. Made it even more special considering the opponent we faced.
GO BG!!!

I'd also like to add that BG beat a top 15 team this year, while the Buckeyes did not..

Urban Meyer is now 0-1 against top ten teams during his time at OSU....
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
