Bruce Feldman just said that Wake offered Clawson. Presser tomorrow morning? Connect those dots.

Who do we want as the next coach?

Yep, he's a goner. Such is life in the MAC. I'd offer the head job to Elko and try to retain as much staff as possible.

Elko seems likea logical choice, but what about Ruggiero? Cant discount what he has done with the offense.

Well if Clawson is in fact heading to WF, no hard feelings here. It stinks, he's an amazing head coach and has done wonders here, but he has proven he is among the top coaches in the country and the coaching staff he has assembled here is among the top in the country. When I first got word he was the guy, I was incredibly excited about the hire and for good reason. The awful 2010 season did not bother me as I saw a bad season looming, but seeing 2, perhaps 3 straight 3 game turnarounds is something you don't see everyday. If he is in fact gone, he leaves the program in outstanding shape and somebody can take the reigns and run with it.

I have a list of guys who I'd like to see as candidates, but I'm going to withhold them until we know for sure he is coaching elsewhere. As of right now and as of until he is introduced elsewhere, Dave Clawson is the head coach of Bowling Green football. Regardless of any circumstances, Clawson has done incredible work for this university and we all owe him our gratitude.

Roll along!

Best of luck coach!! A well deserved promotion! I now have 3 ACC teams to cheer for ... UVA (fiance's school), VT (soon to be brother-in-law's school), and Wake Forest. All the best, Coach Clawson.

Good luck to him.

Saw an interesting report that Fickel may be interested in the job. Let the BG speculation begin!

Good luck to him. I hope he told the guys that got him the job before they found out from the Internet.

If we're going the big school d coordinator route, I'd prefer dj durkin to fickell. Fickell managed to win only 6 games as the head coach. Yes, it was a tough situation but that's pretty hard to do with their talent. And he managed to make Michigan and Michigan state look like juggernauts in the two biggest games of this year.

Wouldn't mind Fickell but his defense was pretty awful. Durkin or Strudrawa make sense.

$hit.....happy for him, but it sucks for us. At least we finally won a MAC Championship with him.

Is it wrong of me to wish a coach would choose the community and family aspect over the money? No bitterness here though. Just fairy tale wishes.. Good luck DC

Jim Grobe was making 2.9 million at Wake Forest and only won about half of his games. Sounds like a high income, relatively "low" pressure job to me. Who would turn that down?

D.J. Durkin is making $490,000 at Florida as the DC and Studs is making $500,000 at LSU
