I will agree that fouling is not a bad idea, but only if that other team is still in the one-and-one and they have some bad free throw shooters on the floor.

I think Moon would have be a good player to put on the ball in this situation.

My other thought is that we should change our defense in situations like that. Akron called a TO and picked a play to run against a man-to-man defense. If we come out in a zone, it causes confusion for the opponent as it is not what they are expecting to see. How many times have you seen an opponent do that to us out of a timeout and we waste the possession because we can't adjust to the different defense? Oh well, we will never play a zone anyway, so that strategy would be stupid. Sorry for mentioning it.

See, this is where I differ. I don't care if they make those 2 free throws. You are still going to get the ball back in your hands with the ability to control your own destiny. Get yourself a shot and you can tie or possibly even win the game.

I think its a lot easier to get a single bucket on the offensive end than it is to stop the other team from getting one.

Here's an interesting thing I noticed.

It was a tale of four quarters. Yes, I know basketball in college is in halfs, but check the story out in quarters for last night's Akron game.

1st Ten Minutes BG 18-10
2nd Ten Minutes AK 29-16
3rd Ten Minutes BG 19-7
4th Ten Minutes AK 25-16

I agree with hammb...I listened to the game on the Zips network so Mrs. Freak didn't have to see me sitting in front of the PC again. I would have fouled. If the Zips had been trailing? Play D. Very tough loss to take!!

After this, I will put to bed the Bubba pissing contest, but anyway. The kid is listed at 6'4". I think he's a lot closer to 6'2" or 6'3", but he still has decent height for a shooting guard especially in the MAC. His frail frame looks long and able to put on weight in the future. I'm not a card-carrying member of the Bubba Walther Fan Club, I thought he was obnoxious at Moeller where I saw him more than a few times and I thought he was obnoxious with a really good shot last night. All I'm saying is, I would take his attitude and charisma on our team right now.
