5 time national champion ...should be the next coach
Re: 5 time national champion ...should be the next coach
Even if you are ignorant enough to think that Tressel is a classy individual that just had a few lapses in judgement, consider this:
We had a classy coach, who held high standards for player conduct, ran a tight ship, and posted a record high APR score. Did he brag about it in lecture halls or media interviews, let alone write a book about it? The answer is no.
The reason why is simple to understand. Individuals who are, truthfully, of this nature don't need to run PR campaigns to convince everybody of this fact. Individuals of this nature simply do what they do, and act as though it should be expected of them.
Any person who spends measurable time convincing others of their nature is not to be trusted.

I think it's a horrible post to compare a coach like Clawson to a legend like Tressel... Clawson would write a book and brag in lecture hall if anyone outside Bowling Green knew him...Tressel also raised GPA and team graduation rates at both YSU and OSU... So the post it's really very not good it lacks perspective and shows your ignorance...especially when you compare a legend versus a coach who won the the MAC and was 2-10 a few years ago

Many would say he lied to protect his players.MarkL wrote:No. He knowingly lied to the NCAA to gain a competitive advantage. He's as dirty as he gets. That lie puts all of his accomplishments as a coach in question.
Not interested. At all. Not now, not after his sanction, not ever.

If all of this were true about Tressell how is he pulling the wool over the eyes of the entire Akron board of trustees?

We have a word for that in this country ... bulls**t.Globetrotter wrote:Many would say he lied to protect his players.MarkL wrote:No. He knowingly lied to the NCAA to gain a competitive advantage. He's as dirty as he gets. That lie puts all of his accomplishments as a coach in question.

MarkL has spoken.

He raised GPA and graduation rates at YSU. You think any of that was legit? Following Cooper raising either of those rates wouldn't be tough either and I doubt the legitimacy of that too. He was one of the dirtiest coaches ever at the 1-aa level. At Ohio State he was just as dirty but had 100 times more help covering it up and it eventually caught up with him.60yearsofsicsic wrote:I think it's a horrible post to compare a coach like Clawson to a legend like Tressel... OK smart guy we hire Tressel, how does it work for the last 3 years of show cause, 5 game suspension, and any postseason game we may or may not play in? Maybe Luke Fickell can be the interim HC for those games.
Sincerely,
The ignorant

He's a cheater. He's a liar. He's a hypocrite who will win at all costs then brag how he's better than everyone else.
The facts on this creep are pretty straightforward.
He's wins
He does so playing boring football
He's been found guilty of major NCAA infractions at both of his head coach stops.
He resigned in shame from his last spot.
He has serious NCAA sanctions coming up if anybody ever hires him.
Those are all FACTS.
If you advocate bringing tressel here you advocate winning at the cost of being willing to tarnish the bgsu name to do so. I do not.
I care far more about our athletic department being run the right way and playing within the confines of the rules than anything else. I'd rather lose every game for eternity or drop football altogether than embrace the scum that is Jim tressel. To say otherwise, to me, tells me that football is more itnportant than the image and reputation of our alma mater, and to me that just isn't so.
I wouldn't hire tressel, I wouldn't hire neuheisal, I wouldn't hire calipari, etc. I love to win, but its not everything when it comes to bgsu sports. Not to me.

I want nothing to do with Tressel.Globetrotter wrote:
He is extraordinarily well thought of at Akron and in most parts of Ohio and OSU fans look at him as a martyr who was looking out for the best interest of his players.

OSU fans? That shallow gene pool is viewed as a good character reference?
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: 5 time national champion ...should be the next coach
The show claus penalty is preventing us from hiring University of Alaska Anchorage coach Kris Kringle.
Re: 5 time national champion ...should be the next coach
Update on Kringle: he brings a lot of baggage but has a diligent staff that works very hard for him. He's very detail-oriented (list checking and such) and, in recruiting parlance, is "great in the home" with several successful in-home visits. His salary demands are modest (milk, cookies) and overall he's known as someone who always leaves places better than he found them.
