Coach Babers has a lot to work with and our BCS opponents showed our flaws this year. We can be a Top 20 next year with the right adjustments!

When was the last time we won a true close game?

Looked like s**t in all 3 phases for the most part. Bound and determined to hand the ball off for nothing all game even though it was obvious it was going nowhere in the first quarter. Disappointing end of the season, we made a mediocre team look really good.

We were out coached and out prepared. The motivation just was not there. I think Coach Babers will be a breath of fresh air for the program Coach Shier (SP?) is a great guy but he is not ready for the top job. I wish him well in the future. Personally, I think the OC and DC should not have been allowed back. They joined the team 12 days ago for prep and it was not enough by a long shot. Pair that with the fact that they are recruiting for Wake Forest and you get coordinators not fully focused on our game. Again, they are great guys and did well for us but this put the team in a bad position.

I am excited for 2014!!

When we had them at 3rd and 5 on their own seven and they not only converted but went 98 yards to pull ahead 27-20, I felt we were going to lose the game.

That was just a symptom of how poorly prepared BG was for the entire game. It wasn't just the coaches, it was also the players. This was not the BG team we saw close out the last half of the season and win the MAC title game. It was a shadow of that team...probably because we got a shadow of the coaching.

I know there is a lot of disappointment and a lot of griping about BG's play but Pitt was a quality opponent for us. Even at 6-6. Look at their schedule: Fla St., N. Mexico, Duke (who was good this year), Va, VATech, Old Dominion, Navy, G. Tech, Notre Dame, N.C., Syracuse, Miami (Fla). Could we have been 6 and 6 against this schedule. Likely that would be our record at best. Pitt had the best RB, WR, and DL on the field. Their OL dominated and our RBs and DBs for the most part looked like skinny little kids in comparison to a big RB or WR roaring down the field. Still, I felt we played well considering the disadvantages in preparation. I know we were favored but I felt it was a pick-em from the start with a little BG plus for crowd and venue. Despite what some say, the team fought back and held a lead when it looked early like that was not probable. A needed big stop on the 98 yard drive just never occurred. Both teams played well, Pitt just a little bit better and more physical. One other fact I believe is correct was that there were no turnovers in this game. Ford Field isn't use to seeing that happen. Like Flipper said I enjoyed it despite the result.

Ditto on those comments FredtheFalcon.

Despite the loss, the 3 hour drive home, and the need to wait 8 months for the next game I thought it was a pretty good match up. But I think we lost touch with some of the basics in the intervening 3 weeks.

While I am still somewhat depressed lets face it, this was better than traveling to Mobile and getting Tulsa'd and better than Idaho winning on the last play.

Glad I went! Thanks Seniors!
