Sounds a little familiar to a recent change in head coaches that led to a very dark period in our program. I hope the smoke is just a screen and he's a good kid, and that we're recruiting quality kids in our new program! Benefit of the doubt ...for now though.
Since he was acquitted on one charge and the jury came back hung on the other.....looks like there was more smoke than fire. Unless you know more than the people that sat through the trial and heard all the evidence?

I don't know jacksh*t about this kid or the caseS. All i know is that historically speaking this is not a good sign.

AGAIN, I hope this isn't the case with this student-athlete, and that BG just out-recruited every other school who wants a four star WR, that he came to BG because every other school researched the kid, realized he was wronged and tried like hell to bring him to their campus AND I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. But I don't think Clawson brought in any students that had been tried twice, or even once as a felon. That's just my freakin point of view that I'm sharing on this board!

Not naming names...but Clawson had a scholarship offer out within the past few years to a kid with a felony assault conviction stemming from the theft of an iphone....and as globe has pointed out, we were in the thick of things with Lewis in 2012 when the charges were filed and his legal status was less certain.

You seem to be suggesting that there's a problem here unique to coach Babers....you are wrong

Want to beat BCS teams? Get players that Kentucky, Washington, Arizona, Marshall, UC, Toledo, West Virginia, and Ohio all offer.

And yes, it was Clawson's staff who was recruiting LEWIS very hard.

Great pickup for BG and a good sign for the Deno staff.

It seems to be the environment in America to lock 'em up and throw away the key. Unfortunately we don't have enough money for all those keys. It's far past time we take people who make mistakes and give them an assist to get back on the path to doing things right. At one point we enlist these kids into a branch of the military and most of the time they came out as productive citizens (if fact if you ask questions in your family you may be related to one of these individuals). Now we have gotten to the point where accused means guilty. I hope he succeeds but I'm also sure he will have limited opportunity to screw up. Let's hope for the best.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

Sounds like a real coup for us. Glad to have him here. Matt Johnson is going to have a lot of throwing to this kid.

Sounds like a great get for us! I don't have a problem giving someone a second chance. I, including probably most of us on this board, have had them or needed them. I very much look forward to seeing him compete and succeed with and for BG.
GO BG!!!

Between Gallon, Lewis, Deiter, Moore, Burbrink, Jackson, Coby, Cohen, and Hoseley, I'd say we are stacked at receiver in a way we haven't been since 2004. Add to that a good QB and a pass happy up tempo system, this could get really fun.
