Olympic Dream (crowdfunding)

Post by rood »

In case you didn't see this post on the hockey board:

A very dear friend of mine has been selected to be an official for the women's hockey tournament at the Sochi Olympics and is trying to raise funds to pay for her mother to go with her to watch the games. This is from her giveforward.com ( https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/ ... d_overview ) page:
The final step to my Olympic dream....I am raising money to help offset the cost of travel for my mother to the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.

My Olympic dream started when I was a little girl, I have always wanted to be part of an Olympic Games. This journey has been a great one but many sacrifices have been made by the people I love. I would not be where I am today without the support of my family and friends. The out pouring of support I have gotten from so many people is truly heart-warming.

My mother has been behind me for every high note and every bump in the road. I would love to raise a little money to offset her travel expenses to Sochi in February. I owe so much of this unbelievable experience to my mother and I know she would not miss it for the world. Unfortunately, this unwavering support does have a cost and a very large one at that.

The final step to my Olympic Dream is finalizing all the travel arrangements for my mother to accompany me for the final days of the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi. Any support that you can give (no amount is too small) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for all your support throughout my journey!!
If you could take the time to make a small donation at this link ( https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/ ... d_overview ) she, her mom, and the entire Rood household would be eternally grateful!
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.
