Yep...no better way to make that point than to tell the MVP of the championship game that he...like everyone else...will have to earn his spot.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Suzy Dieter wrote:Thanks for all of the kind words. Gehrig and Nolan are both excited for spring and mostly for next fall. They are hard working blue collar kids who have been waiting a long time to compete again. They are excited to prove themselves to the new staff and to work with their teammates to improve as a team over the next few seasons. They love Bowling Green as do we. Their younger brother Thurman just started school this week and is serving in the Army Reserves and participating in ROTC at BG..so needless to say the Dieter family is "all in" at BG! Stop by and say hi in the fall at the parents tailgate..A fun group of people for sure!

Ms. Dieter,
As I mentioned, I had a chance to talke briefly with Gehrig prior to the MACC game...he was very cordial; we had nice chat...when I asked him if his brother was there, he pointed him out to me, only about 10 ft. away or so. Looking forward to seeing him play in the fall.... as to tailgates, we'd like to invite YOU and your whole clan to join our tailgate, usually in lot 20 or so... It's been awhile since I've had a chance to be on a first name basis with some BG football parents...kind of miss it...and I'm sure I'm speaking for the rest of the AZZ crew. \:D/

Peregrine,
We will definitely look you up! I forgot to mention that our tailgate is located just under the scoreboard area. I also believe Coach Babers was making the point that every postion is open and wants the team to enter spring with a competitive attitude. Babers has no connection to Nolan and has never seen him play as far as we know. Both boys are competitors and will work hard to try and see some playing time this fall!

Suzy,
No big deal, because of my problems in terms of WHERE my info lands (After the post instead of before), but I'm "officially" known as the CLASS OF '61.... (mostly because I'm also the OLDEST guy on this board I think)
