2014 Recruiting Class Update 2/4 19 Verbals
Re: 2014 Recruiting Class Update 12/17 18 Verbals
If this is right, this would be a potentially huge get. Lewis is from Pickerington Central near columbus. Was an OSU commit in the 2012 class I believe. Ran into a tough situation and it took a bit of time for it to clear. If he is back and BG gets a real shot at him this could be a huge WR steal for BG.

Isn't this the kid who got into some type of MAJOR problems that even OSU didn't want to deal with? IF he's got his act together, it MIGHT be worth a look...but I don't want character issues to possibly hurt this team.

Here's the facts: he was originally charged with two counts of rape involving a former classmate at Pickerington. During the trial, he was found not guilty on one count and the jury deadlocked on the second, causing a mistrial.Class of 61 wrote:Isn't this the kid who got into some type of MAJOR problems that even OSU didn't want to deal with? Instead of the case going to a second trial, a plea agreement was reached and he was given probation after pleading to a charge of making false statements to police. The girl involved in this approved the plea agreement.
Who knows what the real story is here, because in these type of cases it almost always comes down to one person's word against the other. The fact that the woman agreed to allow the plea agreement is encouraging, as it allows for both of them to get on with their lives. She is now in college and he went to a prep school for a year after high school and is now deciding where to go to college.

Lewis' twitter feed looks like what you'd see on most twitter feeds from 18-21 year old kids...except Lewis has some pictures of what people think Jesus looked like. I don't see a problem there at all.
Apparently he's announcing where he'll go to school today or tomorrow...as a mid year enrollee, he'll be in for spring and essentially on an even footing with every other WR in the program learning the new system. This kid is a big WR with speed. Good luck dealing with Gallon, Moore, Dieter and him on the field at the same time

Javonte Bagley - 6'3" 180 from Vero Beach, Florida committed today via twitter. Had offers from Kentucky, south Florida, Marshall, Memphis, FIU, FAU, and some school in Winston Salem, NC. 30 catches/450 yards this year.

Must have been Winston Salem State University as Salem University is an all women's school (or it was when I lived in NC).BGGrad01 wrote:Javonte Bagley - 6'3" 180 from Vero Beach, Florida committed today via twitter. Apparently...Javonte Bagley didn't play organized football until his JR year of HS. These highlights are from that year.....he looks like he has a huge upside.

Story in The Blade today that DB Marlon Tyree is not being offered a scholaship by the new regime and JUCO TE Hinkel is not coming to BG either. Tyree's high school coach is a bit upset about the situation.

How would the newspaper have gotten this story? Did Mischler contact them directly? Why is this story just now popping up in print close to National Signing Day?
Mischler says he knows "the zigs and zags" of recruiting yet never had a backup plan in place for his player in a situation that routinely happens all across the country when new staff take over? If anyone handled the situation unprofessionally it is him.
The biggest question remains how the misdirected complaints of a random, petulant high school coach was a newswothy story in the first place.
