As a coach, having an amorous relationship with a player is certainly a violation of University policy and would have gotten her fired. Like I said, if a male coach had an amorous relationship with one of the women's players, people would be disgusted to have that guy sitting behind the bench at games. And as I said, if that player felt in any way compelled to be in that relationship as a terms of their playing time or as a terms of being part of the team, then that becomes a legal issue.

This entire scenario would also be true if it was a professor and a student. Definitely against University policy. I get that you all like Ali. I have no problems with her as a person, either, and she should be voted into the BGSU Hall of Fame for her accomplishments as a women's basketball player. But, her actions as the coach were inappropriate and she resigned as a result of that. Ryan pointing out she was behind the BG bench and remarking it was odd would be like a gambling addict buying a controlling interest in a casino and having somebody mention that was odd.

It would be different for a male coach on a female team because...fair or not...you wouldn't view the male has having a "just friends " relationship with players he is no longer coaching. Mann's status as a former player complicates things as well...even though she's technically gone, people will always see her as part of the team.

Part of the backlash against Autullo stems from the editorializing...part of it stems from his viewing her attendance as odd when it wasn't. And his "style " is grating...saw a retweet of his that included the phrase "booger eater " What kind of a man calls someone a booger eater?

We just pointed out why it's exceptionally odd that she is there. I think odd is the perfect term.

Since she's gone to number of games...as has been pointed out by several people...it wasn't "odd" that she was at this one. So..no..odd isn't the "perfect term".

Odd is the perfect term because any situation where she is close to the team isn't appropriate. It's odd that you nitpick at posts and choose strange agendas, even though you consistently do it.

I find it odd that she stays in such close contact with the team when she was involved in inappropriate business with a player of that team. I have no problem with her being at the game, but perhaps she should choose a better place to sit. Where she sat makes it "odd", and as some would say, it doesn't pass the smell test.

By the way, Ryan's tweet sounded more like a tabloid entry than a newspaper item. However, I had no problems with what he wrote. He editorialized about it, but if anybody that reads his tweets isn't familiar with the situation, then his spin made them look up why it was so odd. That's good journalism. And even though he's immature, that doesn't make him bad at his job.

To draw comparisons, if one of our former impressive football players came back to coach our football team, and he ended up in an amorous relationship with one of the current football players and subsequently resigned from his position, would it be okay for him to come to the games with a sideline pass? What if this situation with the women's team was instead with the men's team, and the guy sat behind the men's bench? It's inappropriate for Ali to be associated with the team in any way that appears office considering recent events. She can root for the team and even attend games, but perhaps she should sit somewhere that doesn't make her appear to be affiliated with the team in an official capacity.

GT....Odd isn't the perfect word because she's attended other games and is a free adult. She wasn't shunned by the University nor cast out from the clan as a misbegotten harlot...so she can buy a ticket to the hoops game if she wants. Nothing odd about that in my book. As for the rest of your nonsense...I have no idea WTF your going on about but I sense that you have a building obsession with me that makes me a bit nervous...unless you're a reasonably attractive female. then I'm flattered....and nervous.
