NE Ohio QB verbals to BG
Re: NE Ohio QB verbals to BG
You are right on the money with Opelt. Recruited pretty hard by BG baseball, but just so so by football. Leady was a very good HS football player, but didn't know he ever planned to play both at BG.

Most interesting to me re: this class...are the kids who decommitted....one to Richmond (FCS) and one to Wayne St.(FCS?) and one to Bucknell(FCS).... I know several others went to UC, Louisville etc., but just curious about kids who are going to FCS schools....did we "miss" on these kids re: D-1 players? (And yes I do know that FCS is D-1, but considered to be a "lower level").

Richmond and Bucknell are great schools academically...probably more highly rated than BG . No way of knowing if Jones was ever really offered. The only mention I ever saw about him and BG (outside of a couple of the recruiting sites) was a website out of Detroit called the DZone.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Not sure the LB was ever a true commit. I understand why the TE would choose another place. Not sure about the O lineman.Class of 61 wrote:Most interesting to me re: this class...are the kids who decommitted....one to Richmond (FCS) and one to Wayne St.(FCS?) and one to Bucknell(FCS)....
