Prove it was fake. My players just tend to cramp up a bunch. It's really unfortunate. I cannot explain why that happens. But we get them stretched out a little bit, get them off the field, get some water in them, and they bounce back. My athletic trainers are just that good.
Trust me, this isn't a far-fetched idea, and trying to prove that it's fake is next to impossible. There's nothing unsportsmanlike about having a strength and conditioning coach that apparently has no clue how to keep his players healthy on the field, nor is it illegal for players to bounce back from injuries rather quickly.

BG did this in the game at West Virginia in 2011 or 2012. Of course, I can't PROVE they did, but I sure can't prove they didn't!

Yeah and that really helped us not lose by 50.threestooges wrote:BG did this in the game at West Virginia in 2011 or 2012. Of course, I can't PROVE they did, but I sure can't prove they didn't!
Football guy is right, I don't see how they could ever flag this. The ref can't say who is hurt and who isn't, if they did you would open another can of worms.

Make the injured player sit out 5 plays.

Re: NCAA proposed rule change would hamper up-tempo offenses
But now you're changing the rules, which is what this entire argument is centered around. People do not want the rules to change because somebody found an offense that exploits the defenses and effectively the game. So, your response to a team finding a way to exploit the game is to...change the rules. If you're going to change the rules to make injured players sit out 5 plays, then you should change the rules to allow 10 seconds between spotting the ball and the next snap so players can be substituted in order to prevent exhaustion related injuries.Globetrotter wrote:Make the injured player sit out 5 plays.

Re: NCAA proposed rule change would hamper up-tempo offenses
I don't really see a hurry up/up-tempo offense as an exploitation of the rules. And CERTAINLY not to the same degree that faking injuries would be.
To me faking injuries is akin to dribbling the ball for 10 minutes in a HS basketball game. Sure, it'd be allowed, but reeks of incredibly poor sportsmanship.

And in the analogy, the equivalent of a hurry up offense is full court press on D all game long. Until you adjust your game plan, you will get eaten alive if the team doing full court is disciplined and well trained.hammb wrote:I don't really see a hurry up/up-tempo offense as an exploitation of the rules. One is in the spirit of the game one is not. They seem pretty different to me.footballguy51 wrote:But now you're changing the rules, which is what this entire argument is centered around. I just heard that the rules committee withdrew the rule. Good news.
