Exactly. Especially after the way he responded when asked about his job at the end of last year and earlier this season. And for anyone who feels bad for him - DON'T - for two reasons. One, he caused this situation, six non-winning seasons in seven years. And two, he said he was "NOT" concerned about his future or his job with God doing this, being that, blah, blah, blah.....and more blah, blah, blah. God is going to take complete care of Louis so we all have nothing more to worry about with him. Orr told us that himself and you can listen to it yourself (files are archived).HoopsFan wrote: Please just say goodbye, Louie. No more talk.

OMG Louie is now in tears. Still quoting the Bible. If the vid of the postgame is on BGSUFalcons, watch it. It's pretty sad.
Kill those 5th graders next year, Coach Orr.

How are you watching it? Further, how can he be sad??? He told us he's not concerned or worried and this is clearly what God wanted or it wouldn't have happened, right Louie???HoopsFan wrote:OMG Louie is now in tears. Still quoting the Bible. Agreed. I wish someone would have paid me around a million dollars to do my job that way for the last seven years too.BleedOrange wrote:Orr had an opportunity to succeed at BG. Instead of bringing energy, he sat back and left the program to the will of god. Delusional, irresponsible, lazy, avoidant, sappy, immoral. I would be reluctant to hire him for any serious position.

The NIU stream carried the post game for both teams. I have no clue why he was sad. Clearly someone reviewed what he had to do to keep his job. Growing a spine was probably mentioned.
Toward the end, I was wondering if he might need shoulder surgery to get to the end of the season. Doesn't the Lord help those who help themselves? I think the idea of playing Shaun Joplin regularly might have helped. Gee, here's someone who may not know the system but he can take a load of your starters. Instead we saw him for about 20 seconds.

Here's hoping that epic melt (I'm going off what was posted, I didn't see it) will help expedite his journey into the world of the unemployed.
There is absolutely no reason by this announcement can't be made tomorrow.
Get a head start on finding your next coach.

Here's what he said after our first loss to NIU this year about his job, God, his lack of concern, etc: (skip ahead to the 7:25 mark on the audio clip):

Antonio Daniels couldn't have helped this team. Neither could have Nate Thurmond, Anthony Stacey, Keith McLeod, etc. in their prime under Orr. This program was doomed after the Orr contract extension and look what unfolded in those last five years. Not one winning season, capped off by a 20-loss season to end it. We all knew what this season was going to hold and boy did it ever.HoopsFan wrote:The NIU stream carried the post game for both teams. I have no clue why he was sad. Re: To God Be The Glory!!!!! No More Orr!!!!!
Religion isn't my cup of tea. There's usually not much use in arguing with people about it, as a non-believer I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority. I certainly don't dislike anyone based solely on their beliefs, even if I disagree. And I'm not speaking about one particular faith, I decided a while ago I wasn't interested in any of it.
However, it really bothers me when religion gets in the way of indisputable facts or progress. (I.E. God can't help BGSU win basketball games; if God cared about hoops Boston College certainly wouldn't go 8-24, and the Earth is clearly NOT 6,000 years old.) I'm sorry, but everything just can't be explained away by God. Of course I'm used to athletes and coaches invoking God when they speak about games, and there's really no use getting worked up over it, and I understand some are more devout than others. But with Orr every. single. interview. or. press. conference. was dominated by this stuff. The final post-game presser at NIU, I felt like a line had been crossed from faith into a complete, strange and psychotic obsession. Surely he has to realize at somepoint he has to be more accountable and God isn't really looking after his career.
I shook my head at the (paraphrasing perhaps) "God is my employer" comment. Ugh. Believe what you need to man, but if you worried more about your actual employer, you know, BGSU basketball, and not faith things that cannot be quantified, maybe you would've gotten us to the tournament like you did Seton Hall.
In the end, faith is the belief in things for which there is no evidence. There was plenty of evidence (101-121) that a change for BGSU basketball was overdue. I hope Louis Orr finds success in coaching wherever his next stop is, if he continues in that career. We'd probably have very little to talk about, but he seems like a nice guy who genuinely cares about his players. He represented BGSU perfectly in that respect.
