I read all of your comments and wonder if anyone has the guts to put their thoughts into action and do the job.

I've already coached. Don't want it, don't need it. have too much fun cheering in the stands.

I've held my season tickets, went to games when I was healthy.

You got what you wanted but I wonder how soon you'll be all over the new guy for whatever.

You also help create the atmosphere around a program and it's been toxic

(off soap box)
So you can only have an opinion or voice displeasure if you are qualified for the job? Ridiculous. Nobody was just suddenly all over Orr, he was at BG for 7 years. The basketball program is virtually dead but I guess I can't be pissed about this because I'm not a division 1 coach.

I don't need to be a chef to know when someone's cooking sucks....

The message was sent by the lack of attendance and ticket sales. The negative atmosphere spilled from coach to players he recruited.

If someone offered me a scholarship when I was 18 I would have assumed I deserved it and would have played hard just like these Falcons did. Unfortunately, the negativity hit the players as well and that's where support of the team and program are in question. I understand where fans were upset with the coach and his selection of players, starters and playing time. These players don't control the program and should not be expected to leave when they are getting playing time just because their stats are NOT good.

As a coach you attempt to take the blame for lack of success but many of fans have leveled their dislike of the coach at players. The coach in BGSue is coming through and protecting the players. I think some fans have crossed that line and an attack from a coach should be expected.

Coach Oor is a great man who poured into our lives as players. Thankful I had the chance to play for him and learn from him.

Hmmm, what did James Erger learn from coach Louie and was Erger's religious affiliation or beliefs proportionate with his playing time? BTW my friend and I were discussing something along those lines. It seems that Louie felt he had the book on religion and didn't want to listen to anyone else regarding it.

Gives a new meaning to the term Bible thumpers.

But, the man doesn't exist anymore. Gone. Poof. No sense throwing gasoline on the embers.

People may believe that not supporting the program via attending games, continuing donations, etc. is also hurting the players -- but it's the only ways fans truly have of expressing their views in a way that will make the people in charge pay attention.

If you write an e-mail saying you believe the coach is awful and should be replaced, and back it up with all the stats in the world, it won't make a damn bit of difference so long as the seats have butts in them every game and donations continue to pour in.

However, when gate receipts fall and donations stop, the people who run things don't just dismiss the criticisms they're hearing as being "just fans venting" and understand that they better do something unless they want conditions to just continue to worsen.

Of course, BG did the exact opposite of this over a year ago when it decided to keep Orr, even though attendance was way off and donations were down, and people were telling them exactly why they needed to make a change.

For the sake of saving a few extra dollars now, the program basically sacrificed what will likely end up being several years of higher attendance (gate receipts) and donations that COULD HAVE BEEN COLLECTED had the change simply been made sooner.

In other words, to save nickles, they spent dollars. It was a fairly incompetent decision by the BGSU administration and athletic department.

The OSU administration? I think it was the BGSU administration.

Orr had terribly coached teams with no execution what so ever. As I said before let's hire Stacey in and let him rebuild this program. I would like to go to good games with good crowds before I graduate

My bad, that's what happens when you are listening to sports news about OSU while typing about BGSU. I edited it.
