MAC Coach of the Year

Post by falconwomenbball »

Coach Jennifer Roos has been named the 2014 MAC Coach of the Year. This is a much deserved honor. She has done a masterful job coaching her team this year. Now on to Cleveland to win the MAC Tournament and get that NCAA bid.

This is totally deserved. Coach Roos did an absolutely fantastic job this season, as did her entire staff as well.

It just goes to show that any thoughts or fears of Roos simply riding Miller's coattails were baseless. This program continues to endure, and its just a very special thing we have. Hopefully Roos can continue to grow and flourish as a head coach and has as successful a tenure as Miller had, or more.

Thanks for your post 24

Anyone who has followed this program knows Jennifer was Curt's defensive guru ,sent herself and the rest out on recruiting trips. She was the Associate Head Coach longer than she was an assistant. I can remember when she came to the Coaches' Show the first time to fill in for Curt. She was very nervous, didn't look around much, talked and left. Now when it's her turn, we can count on lots of info and laughs.

She loves BGSU and BG. She said she tells the women to follow their heart on life decisions. I'm glad she took her own advice and became our Head Coach.
Everyone grows into their job. She will continue to do so. I must remember that her job is my entertainment. I've glimpsed how hard she works. I know her staff and the team join her in this effort.

51-14 (so far) as our HC....she's just done a fantastic job. I hope this is the first of many COY awards in her career.

TOTALLY DESERVED!!! I remember when I emailed Coach Miller for the last time before he took over at Indiana. He told me he hoped Coach Roos would get the job cuz, in his words, "She's a stud". Freakin eh....the rest of the conference has got to thinking "Here we go again". Congrats Coach!

27-3 speaks for itself. Way to go Coach Roos. This is why I have become a bigger BG Women's Basketball fan than all of our other sports (Football Included). This is well deserved. Hopefully, Coach Roos and her staff can keep it going now with future recruiting classes. This will be the big test. Go Falcons!

I wouldn't say that Coach Roos didn't have the team ready to play. It's just this triple bye seems more of a disadvantage. Last two years the teams are 0-4 with the byes. Plus BG only had 30 minutes of practice time on the courts. Ball State had 2 30 min practices plus two games to get used to the surroundings. Plus as I mentioned in earlier post BG struggles at noon starts over the past 4 years. Look at their winning percentage on early start games. When we moved the clocks forward last week we should have set them forward 4 more hours.

Ok. Team was to leave BG Wed for Cleveland-snowstorm & 50 vehicle pileup on turnpike left Thursday got into back up on tp. No practice at Baldwin Wallace at all. Then only 30 minutes before game.not excuses just facts
We didn't execute. BSU on roll CMU also out so get rid of triple bye. BSU wins may still have shot last 10 games we're.9 &1 one of criteria
If this result dims your feeling about job Jennifer did with 8/9 healthy bodies so be it. I'm waiting to see selection show Monday & all this might be forgotten.still going to post season not 4 letters anyone wanted. maybe time will tell. still proud & support. Your choice

Did you watch the game? You can't pin this loss on a lack of effort or poor preparation. BSU hit a lot of shots...contested shots and we didn't. It happens that way sometimes. I dislike the "triple bye" format immensely (almost as much as I dislike a one bid conference like the MAC having a tournament) because the top two seeds are playing teams that have been in town and had a game to get acclimated ahead of you. If you want to "reward" the top two seeds with trips to the semis, you shoud only play the semi and final games in the Shithole...I mean Cleveland.
