Bobby Shea CRAWLS across the floor....

Haha, no surprise here! The announcer's comments cracked me up.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

We were at that game in Columbus and saw it happen. We were sitting across the ice from the hall where Lune and the Schmuck player were sent off TOGETHER (DUH! #-o ) when they got into it. We all stood up, pointed and were yelling when people started to take notice and someone finally went down the hall to break it up!

I was pretty much in the middle of it. I was going down the steps to unlock the locker room for him.

Haha, guess your memory would be much more detailed than mine! I think that we talked about that incident for AGES afterwards!! What a freaking hoot that was!!

The cop that helped break it up told me to tell Kevin if he came out of the locker room he was going to jail. 20 minutes later, Kevin and the player he was fighting with were standing side by side at the glass, laughing and watching the rest of the game.

Late in the 95-96 season (i think), BG played OSU at the State Fairgrounds (where the Columbus Chill played). Kevin Lune dropped the gloves with a player on the ice. After breaking it up, the referees sent them off the ice, through the same exit at the same time. Walking to the locker room, Kevin was behind and said "Hey, wanna go again?" OSU player turned around and said "Sure." So they started fighting off the ice. Both got double 5 minute majors and double game disqualifications (had to sit out three games).

I've still got to get my hands on my radio call of that one.
