The media guys never want to ask "public" questions, because it wasn't their private interview, even though most of them ask the same questions!

Micah Byars took home over $100k in 2013 at Iowa State which I'm assuming is more than our assitants make but maybe not.

One of the best lines I heard from Coach Jans, concerning his background, was, " I wasn't just riding the bus, I was driving the bus." :-D

interview with Coach Jans @ 92.3 The Fan:

http://cleveland.cbslocal.com/2014/03/2 ... ita-state/" target="_blank

Bowling Green head coach Chris Jans joined Anthony Lima and Dustin Fox to talk about his journey as an assistant coach with Wichita State, the undefeated regular season and starting 35-0 before losing to Kentucky in the third round of the NCAA Tournament, the draw in taking the head coaching position at Bowling Green, whether he can create the kind of success that Urban Meyer did with the football program at Bowling Green, the immediate goals for the Falcons’ program having not made the tournament since 1968, recruiting against the heavyweights in Ohio and whether he’ll pattern his program after Wichita State.

Many thanks to Bill Frack who stepped forward with funds to help get Coach Jans here in BG. The man wants to see BG win.

Loved the way Coach Jans said "Bowling Green State University" all the time in his presser. Love that. :supz: And how he mentioned the 1984 Hockey National title. The sleeping giant is about to awake from its 7 year slumber. These are good days at BG...

GO FALCONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think everyone is happy to have new energy in the program, but the slumber has been longer than 7 years. The recently completed coaching tenure dovetailed with the work of the 5 years before it.

FALCONS FOREVER!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Article from the Wichita paper with great quotes from Gregg Marshall on Jans and Kingston. These two are going to get it done:

The press conference if you have not seen it.

I'm just into the Kingston part and I must say he is awesome. Thanking Frack is awesome, Thanking the president and the mayor also awesome.

The Shocker board talking about Jans and us.

Sounds like this has been a done deal for some time. That encourages me greatly.
