Very interested in why they weren't out there today. I really wanted to see Moore in this offense today.jpfalcon09 wrote:I asked Wagner about those guys and no response yet, but I can only assume they are hurt since the program didn't have any transfers to my knowledge.

Wagner got back to me, they were both hurt and coach didn't want to push it with them.

That is good news to hear! Well not that they were hurt, but that they are with the team and just held out. When you said "both" were you referring to Moore and Coppet?jpfalcon09 wrote:Wagner got back to me, they were both hurt and coach didn't want to push it with them.

Mike Minns made some plays on D as well......Burbrink was catching everything thrown at him and Herve Coby also made some nice catches. I think the running game wil be fine...let's not forget that we're working with a new C and G. I was surprised to see Greene fumble today.

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Babers isn't very open about injuries so I have no information on why they're out.

The date threw me a little..
Austin Valdez has moved to LB from QB.
Kendall Montgomery with 3 sacks
freshman Nick Johnson played first string defense.

Re: Spring game: where is Ronnie Moore?
how about the 6'7 punter also playing wr, he looked fairly decent and if gallon comes back healthy watch out
Re: Spring game: where is Ronnie Moore?
I more meant when you said both were held out that you were referring to Moore and Coppet, correct? I was wondering if anyone heard what was going on with Hunter too? I didn't see him out there today either and it looked liked true frosh Nick Johnson was running at one of the #1 CB spots. I don't think I saw Bryan Thomas or Jared Cohen out there either.jpfalcon09 wrote:Babers isn't very open about injuries so I have no information on why they're out.

To me it looked like Greene got turned around and then held up from going to the ground and then was hit again and the ball was punched out. Given's fumble to me looked like a guy just came down hard on a swipe and it was loose.Flipper wrote: I was surprised to see Greene fumble today.

Valdez is actually the other way around, he moved from QB to LB. The sacks today consisted of just touching the QB as they wore black jerseys and weren't hit so the sacks were essentially stoppage in play. Johnson did indeed run with the ones which had me wondering about Hunter since I didn't see him with the twos either.

Another thing to add from today, the defense wore a new uniform combination that we haven't seen yet. They wore white helmets, grey jerseys and white pants. Looked kinda sharp IMO. The offense was in orange everything.
Anyone hear anything about Marcus Levy?

Re: Spring game: where is Ronnie Moore?
I never read too much into any stat in a spring game. I think Babers wants them to practice at a pace that is faster than the refs will actually be able to spot the ball and blow the whistle. I know Auburn practices this way so when they get to an actual game the pace does not seem that fast to them.
Were the formations all spread or were there any bunch or power formations? You can still run power running plays in the hurry up so to hear this was a struggle is disappointing a little bit.

Re: Spring game: where is Ronnie Moore?
Much of what we ran was spread. And in fact, when I say spread, in terms of our wideouts, they were really spread wide. As in lined up about two steps from the sidelines. When we lined up inside the one or two, we weren't lined up in a standard goal line/power I formation. We were still in shotgun but did have an HB/FB in with our RB in the backfield. But our lack of short yardage wasn't just at the goal line, it happened multiple times around the 25 or so when we were at 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 where we needed one yard and ran two plays and couldn't get it. Again, it reminded me of a couple years ago when we faced a 3rd and 1 and it seemed like 3rd and 15. It was frustrating to me because of the number of times we didn't execute on it because one, most of the time it was our #1 offense against our #2 defense, and two, we seemed to rectify that problem the last few years. Not tryng to make a mountain out of a molehill but it really stood out to us today.kdog27 wrote:I never read too much into any stat in a spring game. Moore played in last Saturdays scrimmage early,
and looked like he was probably nursing a hamstring later when he was walking around the scrimmage.
