Another Donation

Press conference will be held tomorrow announcing Bill Frack will be giving another $10 million to the program. He also contributed $700K towards Coach Jans' salary.

Saw Strack's tweet about this and was in disbelief. Amazing commitment to the program.

That man is amazing. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago. I saw in Jans' introductory press conference that Bill Frack did not look in great health. I wish him all the best and the longest and healthiest life ever known because a man of his compassion and generosity deserves no less.

The pieces just keep coming together. Is Mr. Frack in the BGSU Athletics Hall of Fame? If not this would be the time to do so.

'Thank you' is almost inadequate at this point. Kingston said it best: Mr. Frack is flat-out inspiring to all who care about BGSU.

Time to boost the assistant coaching salaries, support staff, charter flights, home-and-home schedule, recruiting budget, et. al and watch the wins follow.

Think the most interesting part of his gifts...... and annual $675K perpetually.... not a bad little budget to work from as starters.

Simply .... INCREDIBLE! His unbelievable generosity alone is another reason I hope like hell BG can break down the NCAA Tournament barrier for him to see the Falcons in it just one more time.

Kingston said one goal is to use the money to schedule one home game a year with a major program. This alone will increase visibility and recruiting efforts.

Regarding the staff, we presently have 3 assistant coaching positions and the DBO (roughly 70K, 60K, 50K and 30K). Hard working undergraduate student volunteers fill the remaining roles.

Positions in Division I college basketball with paid salaries and/or tuition subsidies include:

Graduate Assistant/Graduate Manager
Administrative Assistant
Director of Student-Athlete Development
Assistant Director of Basketball Operations
Coordinator of Recruiting Operations
Video Coordinator
Assistant Video Coordinator
Assistant to the Head Coach

We don't need all these positions but 2-3 would certainly be helpful.

I'd like to send Mr. Frack a personal "Thank You". Do you think if I sent a card to the Athletic Dept. % Mr. Frack they would forward to him?

Maybe it is a dumb idea, I just want to let him know how much his gift is appreciated and I doubt he jumps on here, Twitter, etc. (I may be wrong.)

It's not dumb at all. And I can't imagine the Athletic Department not accommodating you and forwarding it on.

What an amazing, amazing man he is -- and what an amazing gift. It all but assures that BG can compete to keep their current coach if they want, and upgrade the assistant coaching slots at the same time.

I get the feeling that Mr. Frack REALLY wants to see that horrible streak broken before he says goodbye to BGSU forever -- and I have to say I'm right there with him (in spirit). I only wish I could be there with him in every other way, too.

Guys, we all know the pitfalls and hurdles BG basketball has faced, but there really are NO more excuses for this program not being a MAC Tournament champion and NCAA Tournament participant any longer. A new facility coupled with a financial backing our conference peers can't touch - it's now time to get this done. Let's give Bill Frack the biggest thank you back by making that a reality. What a story it would make. The 46 years has been 45 too many. It's time BG gets it done once and for all.

He is also a very, very sweet man. Very unassuming and the kind of role model we all should be in our lives. Paying it forward, expecting nothing in return.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
