Rasheed Worrell 6'8" 205 Sipsey Valley, Bama COMMIT!

As for Denny, I have no idea. However, I do see ALOT of offers going to the position in which he plays.

His best attribute might be that he was offered by Kent, Akron and Wright State also.OptionQB wrote:Denny put up solid numbers in a terrible high school league. There is nothing in any of his tapes to suggest that he has the athletic ability or quickness to guard at the MAC level. Unless most of us on this board are completely wrong he will struggle to separate to get his shot off as well.
Mayleben on the other hand .... ESPN rates recruits on a scale 0-100. Most MAC kids are in the 50s, some hit mid 60s and the top top kids will reach low 70s. When Mayleben committed he was a 37 and finished at 42. That is among the lowest rankings I've seen given to anyone. Kid does have nice size as Globe has pointed out but if he isn't able to use it it doesn't matter
Thats all we know because his HS stats were so nondescript that they weren't told to us. Could be a great kid and could be an All-MAC performer by the time he is done. Could just be a end of the bench guy who helps the locker room. I'm not rooting for him to be off the team. If BG offered me a scholarship I wouldn't leave.
Re: Rasheed Worrell 6'8" 205 Sipsey Valley, Bama COMMIT!
I'm all in favor of the best 13 kids for what Coach Jans in trying to do. I'm not in favor of running kids off or cutting. But if there were an avenue to make sure Denny or any other kid could finish at BG tuition free or better yet, find a soft landing spot somewhere then Coach Jans should pursue every avenue he has to get the 13 guys that best fit his model and for all we know, Denny is one of those 13.

RANT MODE ON
And I feel that everybody starts with a clean slate. The previous coach was well known for not getting the best out of players and didn't play them on talent (see Kraus, Crawford, Erger, etc.) so how can we judge the playing ability of Mayleben and Denny on the brief time we saw them. As it was said, Holmes was the best player on the team last year and how much PT did he get the year before? Honestly, there was no competition for playing time or starting positions. It will be a refreshing change to have 13 guys and a coach who will pick who plays based on TALENT.
All that and I didn't even throw the old assistants under the bus....although that's where they belong. Until I see differently, I'm gong to believe that the new coaching staff has more ability than any of the last ones could ever dream of having. You don't hang around a losing program for 7 and 10 years without an offer for a reason.

Why would you limit the potential fallout from those issues to those four players? These are college kids...don't mea to cast aspersions on any individuals, but college kids in general are known to do some dumb s**t...the kind of s**t that gets you booted off a team
I'm excited to see us land another 6-8 pogo stick...much rather have active athletic posts than some big bulky plugger

Because that has been the entire premise of this conversation. Other players may leave, but we didn't leave those other players off the list. Just the ones on the end of the bench.Flipper wrote:Globetrotter wrote:I think the four in question have no issues in that area.Flipper wrote:Departures aren't always voluntary....sometimes there's issues with grades, discipline...etc...etc...

OK for you..but when the discussion comes around to scholarships available I see no reason to pretend that your list is somehow magical and we should for some reason limit our discussion about off season departures to them.

I don't either. I was just responding to you. Lets not get into a pointless pissing contest.Flipper wrote:Globetrotter wrote:Because that has been the entire premise of this conversation. This is a big time signing. This kid has timing and hops similar to Holmes. LOVE the footwork. Good court sense.
With Parker, Worrell, and Holmes, dare I say we might have the best front line in the MAC?

Based on the Joseph and Worrell commits, I'm getting a funny feeling that I'll need to renew my season tickets for this year.

The 2014-15 basketball season could not have started better.

I have no idea who will be coming back.
I have no idea who either of these new signees are or if they will actually help.
I have no clue who could be added before the summer.
I do trust Coach Jans because I have to believe in someone at this point.
Truthfully, doesn't that sum up everyone's sentiment?
