The great Ohio State recruiting commitment drought is over, and an in-state prospect ended it — quarterback Joey Burrow of Athens.

A fast-rising name in the national recruiting rankings, Burrow already had offers from at least 17 schools (CMU, Tol. WMU, OHIO) but was holding out for one from the Buckeyes. When it came, he didn’t waste time becoming the third commitment for the 2015 class and the first in several months.
Burrow's father is Ohio University assistant head coach and defensive coordinator Jimmy Burrow, a former Nebraska player who's been in coaching since long before Joey was born. Joey's older brothers, Jamie and Dan, also played at Nebraska.

The MAC lost out on a good one here. ](*,)

His dad is a coach at OU....so he likely would've gone there ....anyway, if WE didn't offer, doesn't matter all that much.

Well, at least we don't have to play against him in MAC games. MAC teams were probably never really in the running: CMU might as well be 4 years in Siberia; WMU and new unproven coach - politely declined; OHIO, He has probably seen enough of Athens for one lifetime; Toledo, well the Glass City isn't Columbus. And Columbus is close to home.

Eh...I like our QB's. Missing out on one *** QB isn't going to make or break the program. :)
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

This young man was going to play at a BCS school, not at a mid major. He was very quickly rising up the rankings.

I remember when my brother-in-law was giving tours at the OSU for incoming freshman and their families and he mentioned that the girls and even the parents were all excited to know that a QB recruit from Massillon was on the tour as well. Popular thought was he was the next great but it never happened and he spent his time there as a backup with many thinking he should transfer to a MAC school. Those stars mean very little and chances are we'll never know what could have been or should have been because most QBs never start or even play in college.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

Good point.... Was that Zwick? Kid played 3 years at Orrville and somehow transferred to Massillon for his SR yr.
