It's hard to compare the Western class with the other MAC schools. For example, while the rest of the MAC takes the times of recruits in the 40-yard dash, Western measures the recruits' speeds in knots.

I think we win 10+ this year...Wisky it a big ? and, as much as it pains me to say it, until we beat the school up north, that is a ?. 10-2 overall, 7-1 MAC at the least and I think, depending on how quickly our O comes together, this could be a run the table year. We have a pretty stocked D and the O has playmakers all over the place. T Tate is $$$ in the kicking game and we need to find a new punter.

New systems always have a learning curve...but we could be even better than last year.

Yeah I hope a little more emphasis is placed on beating UT. In my opinion Clawson treated this as just as he would any other cross divisional game.

Hopefully our current offense better prepares our defense for IU. They basically did what they wanted to us through the air and ground all second half.

Teams like Wisconsin always scare me because they can usually run it right down our throats.

I think all games are winnable but I don't see us beating either of the Big 10 teams at this point.

I'd really like to jump Indiana at our place the way we jumped Missouri back in 2002. I think all of us want to get to the point where this is a game we expect to win.

But, let's face it: Indiana hammered us last year. This won't be easy for us. It's winnable, but it won't be easy at all if last year was any indication.

Schad,
You're right in that we got hammered, but, IIRC, MOST OF THE DAMAGE OCCURRED IN 2 nd half when we seemed to wilt. Our offense put our D on the field for too long.

Correct. The O made yards but couldn't finish drives. Turnovers, fourth down stops, at least one, maybe two missed FG. Our team led the nation in time of possession largely because they consistently continued and finished drives. The IU game was a total clunker and thankfully the team picked a non conf game for a clunker. I'm hoping Coach B is able to motivate the team to play the big non conf games with more intensity because it seemed under Clawson the team never showed up in these games with enough energy. If we are defending conference champs, we better play like it this year.

My prediction is we beat IU....being pretty familiar with their team and knowing who we have coming in this season I say we post the W in week 3....we had problems finishing drives against IU last season...I don't wee that as being an issue this season. Week 4 will be our toughest game by far. I am from Madison and have watched the Badgers my entire life. Their O line and RB's are the best we will ever see...but their DB and secondary are WEAK this year...no big time recruits and nobody coming back that has any kind of hype at all...it's possible..we will have to be clicking on all cylinders in an atmosphere that our kids have never played in. I know one WR who will be super hyped to beat Bucky...so hopefully that will be contagious throughout the team! Either way...if you want to make a fun road game...Camp Randall is ALWAYS a blast!

I think we can beat IU but I think it will have to be a shootout.

I think the style of football Babers is installing will put us in a better position to beat teams like iu than we could have in years past. I love what Clawson did for us but that defense first ball control offense wasn't going to take down big 10 teams, especially high scoring teams like iu.

I think we've got a good shot to beat the Hoosiers this year, but like always we need to play at the top of our game to do so.

I agree... As long as we can keep it going ALL GAME. I went to the '05 game @ 'Sconsin where BG almost pulled it off... 35-35 at half. But then 'Sconsin came out and Big 10 football'd our ass and drove it down our throats. Personally, the difference this go around is we have a better D.. the Offense is comparable to '05.
