Last year I guessed Aaron Foster, Heath Jackson and Jordan Hopgood. Never imagined Travis Greene woul dhave the year he did and Jordan could not get on the field with Greene and then Coppit and Houston playing. Foster did well so I'll say I didn't miss on that one at least. Jackson did well but not a 'breakout' season.
This year, sounds like a lot of folks are saying Gehrig Dieter. Who else do you think will have a breakout year (ie.......show up better and more productive than ever before)?
In addition to Dieter, I think Jared Cohen might surprise some folks if he's healthy.
Maybe Freddie Coppit as well.
On defense, I hope Kendall Montgomery or anyone on the D-line. I hope our offense gets big leads and our d-line can pin their ears back and rush the QB.
Breakout players for 2014
Re: Breakout players for 2014
I don't know if it's breakout because he has already been pretty darn good but but I think DJ Lynch is going to have a monster year. I think those breakout games for Moore at end of last season will be the norm. He is too talented to not be used on every possession. I liked what I saw from Heath Jackson after Gallon was injured. I think he and Burbrink will be great third or fourth options.

Offense: Redding, Deiter
Defense: Gourdine, Senn
Johnson already had what I would call his breakout year, but I can see him easily doing even more this year in the new system. Moore and Burbrink as well.
Marcus Levy is missing from the roster. I thought he had as much potential as anyone else in the backfield. I also don't see Cohen. There are others missing too, but they stand out right away.
And a few guys with some talent that have just kind of gotten lost in the shuffle that I would like to see more from: Coby, Givens, Jamel Martin
Defense: Gourdine, Senn

I'll be curious to see how much Fred Coppet factors into the offense. I know Greene is the no questions asked starter but I feel Fred could really excel in this style of offense.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
