Yes. He signed with an agent because his grades were slipping.

My guess would be CFL, AFL, or other smaller league and working his way up. Best of luck to Mitchell and hopefully we see his name in the NFL someday.

 Can't see much of a career for him in the NFL. He had 2.5 sacks vs. a MAC schedule. It's too bad when these guys do not take advantage of a free education.

That is why I asked about it because I never read anything that was for sure.

I know he wasn't on any NFL underclassmen declaring lists, and you'd think if he thought he had any shot at going pro, he'd at least give the NFL a try, right?

Does it cost money for the paperwork to declare yourself?

There was never any official confirmation of Crossley's status, just a bunch of chatter here--which may well have been true, but it wasn't official. I think Coach Brandon acknowledged academic issues in the Sentinel.

No one ever found him on an NFL Draft list. He has zero chance of being drafted anyway.

I verified, with a member of the media, that Crossley has signed with an agent. He will not be back in the burnt orange and seal brown.

Only in our country do you get an agent to try and make millions, when you are getting bad grades...

Key word here is "Try" to make those millions. It is always seen as a point in the negative column when a draft prospect has troubles in the classroom. Of course the better prospects can still overcome it to a decent draft standing, but it almost ensures him that he has no shot of being drafted.

I have not seen any list on any of the NFL draft websites that has him listed anyways. I did see Scotty M listed as the #197 prospect in the draft somewhere though :) That would put him around the 6th round.

The Crossley thing saddens me. Same thing with Perry. You've got a shot at a free college education and you let it slip away. Tough. I'm hoping that Perry can pull it together.

As for Scotty M., I hope he gets picked and doesn't have to go the UDFA route, though that seems possible. Sure worked for Artis Hicks. The kid goes from UDFA to the Super Bowl.

Brandon mentioned last week that Crossley was gone. As inconsistent as he was, I don't think it's a huge loss on the field. I do feel sorry for any kid that will throw away a free education.

Does anyone know Perry's status other than he's having academic problems?
